With regard to New York, I work in Manhattan and I'm already getting text messages from co-workers who are livid about what Cruz said about New York.

What we need to remember here is that Cruz is running for president of the United States of America. Not Iowa. Not Texas. Not just the South. I get that New York is typically a "blue" state but we should not be writing it off. We, as conservatives, should be working to win it over. As with any other "blue area."

Trump is already appealing to African Americans, Hispanics and other groups who normally vote Democrat. This is how we grow conservatism. Simply mocking and insulting the "other side" is no way to grow our cause.

Cruz really blew it tonight. Maybe he's great for Texas but I think he forfeited his right to lead this nation with those anti-NY comments.

And yes, there are MANY conservatives in and around New York. The elections are not 100-0% for the Democrats. They are more around 60-40%. When you get to many of the NYC suburbs, it's closer to 50-50. This part of the country can be turned red once again. It wasn't too long ago that Ronald Reagan swept all of these "red states."

We should not be writing them off.

Agree. Also, even if the state is voting Democrat, many conservatives are in these states and donate to Republicans.

It was a narrow-mined move by Cruz, focusing only on the Iowa race. Mistake.

Yes, I’m sure all of your Manhattan friends were really considering voting for Cruz before this debate.

Give me a break.

Just tell your friends Cruz was just talking about the LYING LIBERAL MEDIA which resides in NYC.

New York Times is hateful towards Cruz. What do you expect? Cruz cannot go on any NYC show, morning or others and not be ridiculed.

Christie just said he expects Terrorist to self identify before coming into the country which will keep terrorist out. Epic FAIL

I agree 100%.

A President is SUPPOSED to be the head of all parts and all people in our country. That’s been one of Obama’s great failings that he hasn’t done that. We don’t need a new President who starts off by pointlessly, snidely, and indiscriminately attacking EVERYONE in an entire state (or who ever lived there) . Even Obama was never that outrageous in overtly showing his prejudices like that.

I suspect there’s gonna be a GIANT uproar in the media about this for a few days, and rightfully so. I suspect Cruz just sank himself, which is ironic because everyone and his uncle’s brother thought it was gonna be Trump that sunk himself with his own mouth.

I was saying in the earlier post that Cruz is a top debater, who frankly would NOT want to see up against my guy, Trump because Cruz grows on you, but so does Trump.

So, Cruz is Cruzing along, and then he steps into the New York values thing. And the first of answer is actually pretty good. He doesn’t back down. NEw York values, are abortion, gay marriage, secularism etc. Pretty good and hard to say no to that...

But then he gets slick and the smartassness comes out and he says very few conservatives some out of Manhattan...

Boom, Donald Trump, almost 30 years his senior, fires back.. Bill Buckley was from Manhattan. WOW!

The he masterfully weaves a from the heart answer about 911.

I’m sorry, Cruzers...you’re guy was doing great until that point...

I agree with you. We have a guy who will win New York. I don’t know how many deligates you get, but Trump will probably get them all.
