Yes, for me Newt was the best, because he could always draw from his command of our history. You’re right.

Which just goes to show, that it’s a fallacy that the best debater makes the best president.

Reagan was mediocre as a debater, but was good for a couple lasting comments.

“Well, there he goes, again.”

“Cruz makes a very valid comment about the fact that NY is a socially liberal, pro-choice, pro-homosexual, anti-christian place”.

Cruz was raised in Houston, Texas, or should I call it the Socialist Republic of Houston. It is a socially liberal, pro-choice, pro-homosexual, anti-Christian town currently being governed by a radical lesbian major who wants drag queens to be able to go into the girl’s bathroom.

Cruz might be a “conservative” but living in the the biggest liberal city in Texas does not seem to be bother him.

Unions were a major force behind the collapse of American car makers and Detroit as well as other major manufacturing sectors losing out to foreign competitors. If manufacturing is to make a comeback in the US federal protection of unions must go (ie. freedom to employ non-union workers at competitive wages and performance).

I am not quite as downcast as you, I think Republicans can win, even without Trump, but anyone else and it ends up a squeeker... the map doesn’t change much, no coattails, and the kingmakers and big money donors continue to just sell america down the toilet.

I think Trump wins, and wins big, not 1984 big, but big.

Had Romney’s GOTV actually been worth a damn there would have been no Obama second Term. There is a LOT of anger at Obama, so any democrat winning is an uphill battle, unless republicans put up a boogieman. This I think is part of the reason the GOPe is so pro folks like Jeb and Rubio... they are about as non threatening as wonder bread. They aren’t worried about going for the throat, they are just worrying about offending the least number of people.

Politics is a blood sport and the GOPe has been playing it like its flag football for a long long time.

Trump I feel breaks open the mid atlantic, the upper midwest and even puts some NE states into play. Is he the pure ideological conservative? Nope.. but ideology isn’t what has won any election in my lifetime.... Obama’s ideology is at odds with most of America... Bush’s ideology was hardly major conservative. What Trump is however, is UNAPOLOGETICALLY AMERICAN... and that’s why he is winning and its why he’s going to likely smash open the EC and win big, because most americans are tired of politicians on both sides just seliing this nation down the toilet for their big donors... They believe Trump when he says he will put America first, which should be a given, for any politician, but the people have watched for decades as both parties have failed to do so in many ways.

Time will tell, but I think and have for a long time, this is Trump’s to lose.

If we do the stuff I mentioned and get our own economy back on solid free-market-economy footing, our economy will have probably more explosive growth than after Reagan’s tax cuts. Businesses will thrive and without forced union interference, competitive manufacturing can return. China will dim in importance.

Ted Cruz values? He was raised in Houston since he was 4 years old. That he actually had the nerve to talk about NY City values as pro-abortion and same-sex “marriage” is a joke.

Here’s a big event held every year in Ted Cruz’s hometown.
It is currently the most attended and largest gay pride event in the Southwest region of the United States. The 2015 Houston Pride Festival attracted 700,000 attendees, which set a new record.

Sorry, but your argument might have been valid in the 70s, but in 2010s, the main reason manufacturing is what it is has little to do with Unions and everything to do with granting free trade status to third world countries and banana republics, with no expectation or requirement that they do anything to improve their laws, institutions or nation to garner that status.

Free Trade is the biggest scam ever pulled on the US Population, and far too many folks foolishly and willingly argue the continued export of our wealth to despots is a great idea.

Tariffs don’t “cure” anything. They are a palliative measure that doesn’t attack our root economic issues.

Why are there so many on this supposedly conservative site who keep apologizing for and defending the unconstitutional and utterly destructive interference of the feds in our economy and our lives?

The $4 trillion most unconstitutional federal government is the single greatest threat to our economy, our freedom, and our way of life. China is a red herring compared to that.

A tariff is a tax. Used to be the main form of taxation in our country. Much better IMO than the income tax.

But tariffs are NOT an economic solution to our ailing economy. Never have been and never will be. They are a palliative measure that do not directly attack nor cure our root economic problems.

Here are some images to work with.

The JEB... clearly “lives” in an alternate reality. He’d score far higher in these debates if he refused to participate in them.

YOU make an excellent point, Dem!

I am not so familiar with Brat as I am with Sessions. To answer the need for someone with relationships in the senate, mature in the knowledge and execution of the Senate RULES and a sage researcher, no one does it better with so little negative baggage as Jeff Sessions, so I suggested him.

I certainly take your point to heart and if Sessions could mentor the less experienced VP pick, I could maybe be more comfortable. TRUMP could always surprise us with his pick.

Let me say, I do hope TRUMP takes counsel from General Flynn, who is all but saying Obama has been a traitor to the fighting military, wrecked the Middle East on purpose and is no friend to the USA. He is retired, probably forced out, but he is hell on wheels. So, this means there are some other urgent needs out there vital to our security where The Don may need a VP with foreign policy/military strategy grasp.

I am just sayin’. But if it must be a politician, God help us, I pray he is selfless and can not be bought out in 2020.

I like old school, where citizens serve these offices and go home.

Thanks for your comment.

The voluntary (not forced) cooperation of the free market economy is THE major source of wealth creation in the world as Adam Smith pointed out in his 1776 book, The Wealth of Nations. The basic laws of economic do not change with the times. The freedom to supply what consumers demand without government or forced union interference will ALWAYS be the source of wealth creation and economic growth in America and around the world. Both theory and historical fact bear this out.

Freedom works. It is amazing how many on this supposed conservative site don’t believe in freedom, the very core of American values, the very source of her wealth and power, and the reason she is the envy of the world.

Your tariffs punish the American consumer with artificially higher prices. How does that possibly help our economy?

Your protectionism is exactly what dulls the competitive edge needed in the free market to make the best quality for the lowest price. In a free market, the American consumer and the economy as a whole always wins. Your protectionism allows special interests and domestic business to become fat and lazy while the rest of the world is sharpened by competitive forces. Socialism and government interference in the economy is just plain stupid.

The voters in the economy are the consumer. They vote with their dollars. In the 70’s and 80’s they voted for Japanese cars instead of stupid American cars. Why? Because Japan was hungry and had the competitive edge making products that had maximum reliability and quality for a price consumers were willing to pay. U.S car manufacturers needed to roll up their sleeves and sharpen their competitive edge but they never did and one major reason was the unions. But again, the consumers and ultimately the economy ALWAYS win in a free market whether the source is American or foreign as in this example where we, the American consumer, got to buy top quality, reliable cars for a competitive price. The free market increased our quality of life.

Meanwhile, unions and/or costly, dead-end government taxes and regulations cause American businesses to lose because their competitive edge of maximum quality for the lowest cost is dulled like the stupid, fat, and lazy American car manufacturers did and lost. But, again, the consumer won. Certain special interests, like the domestic car manufacturers, lost but consumers and the economy as a whole benefited.

That made me sick last night.

America gets one million FIRST
ROUND draft picks per year, and thanks to Teddy Kennedy and Obama and the democratic party, we end up choosing losers.

We should let in only the best of the best. Muslims in general, don’t want to assimilate. They was to dictate and take over. They are and will always be Muslims first and Americans last.

Jeb BUsh is a pompous Ass, pretty much like George Will.
