“But the main thing that appeals to me about trump is that he is not in the Washington Club at all,”

I appreciate your reasoned posting about why you support Trump. In full disclosure, I support Cruz and I doubt that I could actually vote for Trump. I have many specific issues with him, but I won’t bore you with that drivel in this post.

I did want to address this comment from you. I do hear this pretty consistently from Trump’s supporters. May I ask, in all honesty I am wondering, how do you square this assertion with the fact that he admits to “buying off” politicians? I consider that behavior to be as damaging to our Republic as the politicians that take donations and then provide the favors. He may not have held any office, but he has surely participated in the system that we all say needs to change!

Much like my disdain for the Chamber of Commerce’s cronyism, I have difficulty considering Trump to be “not part of the system at all.”

On that I figure that seeing how Trump owns a number of businesses in democrat cities, he had to grease wheels to get them turning.

I know that’s how it was in New Orleans when I lived there. You you wanted to do business, you are going to have to navigate pols with their hands out.

If you wanted to do big business that involves any sort of approval or action by city pols, you are going to have to pay to play, and that is all there is to it. If you do not scratch their backs, they will stab you in yours. Corrupt all day long.

So seeing as how his businesses are generally casinos, resorts, golf courses and things of that nature, I know he has had to play the game of paying various politicians in order to proceed.
