It was only a little less than two years ago when Donald Trump introduced Sen. Ted Cruz at a Lincoln Day dinner in Palm Beach, Florida with nothing but gushing accolades for the Texas Senator.
Of course, times have changed.
Today, Trump is unleashing a timely and stealthy attack on Cruz ahead of the Iowa primary where the two GOP candidates are in a head-to-head dogfight to win the state.
Planting big, disruptive, unrelenting seeds of doubt about foreign-born Cruz's eligibility to become president, Trump is hoping to deal a death-blow to the campaign of his biggest rival - and former ally.

Before Cruz caught up to Trump in the polls, the two shared what some would call a political "bromance." So much so that talk of them running on the same ticket was excitedly bantered about in conservative circles.
And before Trump decided to run for president, the current GOP-front-runner seemed to have nothing but glowing words for Cruz - and BizPac Review was there to catch it.

Cruz might've brought it up in a campaign, but he never inspired a majority of US citizens to demand it be done.
The goal of any candidate is to WIN. To take out your opponents and take the primaries for the nomination. Why is it so hard to understand this? I expect all the candidates to do what it takes to WIN....especially if they will soon be going up against the media and Clinton machine.
We should all have problems with that.
Cruz was stupid to drink the GOPe Look Aid, but he’s not quite there himself.
Cruz also distinguished himself from Dewhurst with his full-throated support for a border wall estimated by the Department of Homeland Security to cost $7.3 billion, or $6.5 million per mile.
Cruz defended the border wall proposal even if it meant expropriating private property—a position that the debate’s moderators, WFAA reporter Brad Watson and Gromer Jeffers of the Dallas Morning News, said contrasted with Cruz’s message of fiscal conservatism.
“One of the specific powers and responsibilities of the federal government is to secure the borders,” Cruz said. “Property can be taken with due process of law and just compensation.”
Dewhurst said “a fence is absolutely warranted in certain places,” but argued that extending a wall across the length of the border was futile because “people go around walls and over fences.”
Now that Cruz is making great strides, The Donald doesn't like it.
Well, we are the ones who will decide who we want at the top of the ticket.
It was about a week ago that Trump was saying that the other candidates were copying what he said.
It ticked me off because Cruz was talking about a wall while Trump was hanging out with the Clintons, and Cruz brought up stopping immigration of Muslims before Trump said anything of the sort.
If that video is not being spliced into a campaign commercial it should be.
Maybe title it: Trump endorses Cruz
No question that Ted Cruz advocated for building the wall. But what he didn’t do is inspire a majority of US citizens to demand that it be done. Senator Cruz cannot get a majority of US citizens behind him making demands, which only Trump can do.
I repeat....but Cruz didn’t rally the people the way Trump does!
But the truth is most of what Trump uses as talking points now where copied from Cruz. Only difference is, Trump has said it louder.
... About a week ago, Cruzers were taking credit for the demand of US citizens that the wall be built. I thought that brought drafting off Trump one step too far.
He ran on in 2012. It has always been there. There will likely be an ad showing the times with dates Ted advocated for the wall and the times DT said Ted was copying him.
You do know after DT called for all immigrants to be forcibly deported like Ike and a week later he was saying he would let the good ones back in.
Some only hear what they want or they believe DT when he lies. Just like DT first attacked Ted on BC 1/23/15.
This is what is so frustrating trying to communicate with hardcore trumpees. They only seem to believe what they want and it doesn’t matter if there are black and white facts. The second part is the blind allegiance and trust in him. I see no reason for me to trust him. The third is the embracing and glorification of Trump’s vindictiveness.
That’s why Cruz voted with Obama on the Iran deal? That’s why Cruz voted with Obama on destroying America’s sovereignty in the TPA deal? That’s why Cruz voted with McConnell to give Obama everything he wants then made a big stink excuse that he was lied to? That’s why Cruz is funded by and obedient to the cheap labor express his wife is so tied up into big time? What about wanting to increase Foreigners taking America’s jobs by increasing H1B visas by 500%?

And he is supposed to be a conservative?
Cruz’s votes since then do not inspire confidence thaat he is what he says he is.
i see no reason to trust Cruz. His voting record destroys his words.

What I clearly recall Cruz advocating for was the repeal of barrycare. The ‘wall’ was so far down the list of things I heard him discuss, I can’t even remember the comments!
Not saying he didn’t call for it, just saying that it wasn’t loud and deafening like Trump has made it.
I’m going to vote for Ted Cruz.
He IS the conservative in this race PERIOD. How in the world such a significant percentage of people and admin on this forum could fall for Trumps carnival barking flim flam is inexplicable.
His documented history of liberal political positions would have been enough to disqualify him from any serious consideration by even moderate Republicans when I joined this forum in 2004.
But now, not only is he being considered but hailed as the true savior of the party and the nation. The mindless bashing of the one real conservative we have running is not just tolerated but encouraged as if anti-conservatism was a virtue.
Free Republic used to be the diametric opposite of the DU...a conservative bastion against the Liberal/Progressive minions seeking to destroy our glorious Republic. We were the antithesis of petty back biting and trivial innuendo to damage our opponents relying on documented facts and provable positions rather then trifling snark. We were the pajama soldiers for conservative ideals above all and relentless in our conviction to expose the Liberal/Progressives as the scourge of this nation that they really were.
Now so many are willing to crusade for Donald Trump who in many ways embodies that which we fought so hard over the years to expose and to stop. So many our all to eager to accept this tough talking bullsh!t artist for what he says now rather than what he’s said and done for 2 decades prior all while seeking to discredit a true conservative idealist and very good man in Ted Cruz.
I’m truely beginning to wonder whether this great forum has collectively lost it’s soul.
