You are correct and Carson was talked into running by John Philip Sousa IV, who is a shadowy character.

I think Ben Carson got in because he wrote a good book, went on his speaking tours, got a great response and many people told him he should run for president.

I don't think he got in it for the money. He wrote his book for the money, but the presidency is not like receiving royalties or retiring from his investments on his doctoring years.

He is a good man who has been out-matched.
