This New York Times story could not have come at a worse time for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), who had already been knocked off-balance by Donald Trump, is falling in his must-win state of Iowa and is being attacked as a slick politician who won't level with voters...
This is a big problem for any candidate, but a bigger one for Cruz than most. Here's why:

Really tells alot about the broken compass of Trumphumpers who need to scour the bowels of the establishment and leftist toilet bowls like Slate, or NYT, or Jen Rubin to attack a terrific conservative like Ted. Tells us how strong Cruz really is and how much of Trumps support are simply Hillary voters in wait.
Rubio is likely the one who will bring it.
Cruz said recently he filed the loan info elsewhere, including on the form being brandished about when he was caught w/ his pants down (posted elsewhere).
How convenient for Cruz. The loan was disclosed sub rosa ....not where it would have been noticed.....and questioned by Texas voters.
The Ivy League lawyer/s story keeps changing....he also says he forget to declare the $million dollar loan from a powerhouse Wall Street firm that employs his wife. And that his strange excuse for this lapse is that his opponent was spending millions.
IOW, he/s a victim....it was somebody else/s fault.
Not something conservatives like to see in a presidential campaign.
His birthplace, his parentage, his ethnicity, the million dollar loan, flip-flopping on illegal issues. Makes you wonder what else he/s jerked around or falsified.
His political ambitions seem to outweigh everything....that IS problematic.
Too bad he did not take this loan from the Doobleville Savings and Loan.
Just the name Goldman Sachs on this story is going to drive all Tea Party populist voters away.
