UPDATE : 10:25 pm EST: Following the release of the Times report, people uncovered the following document on which Cruz did, in fact, disclose the loan:
So how could one make such a “mistake”? Isn’t it under penalty of perjury? I haven’t looked at the form to see if it has that warning on it.
Oh hey, I forgot about a HUGE loan I took out to run for Senate?
It is a loan, not contribution, not a bribe. disclosed or not, I see it as no big deal, something soon forgotten.
There is no reason for him to have done this, obviously it was a mistake.
From your link:
“Those loans have been disclosed over and over and over again on multiple filings. If it was the case that they were not filed exactly as the FEC required, then we’ll amend the filings,”
If this is a Dem it wouldn’t be a problem.
But to some in the Republican base - it might make a difference.
He is leaving out an important fact that would have defined him in the race. For example, BIG BANKER STOOGE . He ran as an outsider. This doesn’t fit the narrative.
Somebody should hire a skywriting plane to gets this news out there.
You should try some research. Most trumpees only read what they want, not both sides.
Per a Cruz video clip, it was a loan against his own brokerage account at Goldman Sachs. So: a loan against his own assets, not a loan from Goldman Sachs.
This changes the narrative. He ran as a Tea Party outsider.
Disclosing to the Senate is not the same as disclosing it on an FEC form.
This is yet another thing that bothers me. It is the same game of deception played over and over and over again by those in Congress to get themselves elected.
What reasearch. He didn’t report it.
He admits it.
Look at the timeline. July. That was right when Cruz had defeated Dewhurst (so this isn't the form to the FEC). When did Cruz get the loan, how much of it, and does that mean he had already paid it back so that he only owed between 100 to 200 thousand on it?
This document appears to, indeed, just be a financial disclosure form he probably had to fill out after beating Dewhurst. It isn't a disclosure that he received a massive loan to pay for his campaign. It's just listing his personal liabilities.
I heard he got $64 million from that Nigerian guy.
Lolol. Thanks I needed that.
Hasn’t made it to Breaking News yet, so I’m bumping.
Sigh. Some trumpees only see what they want.
Listed as a personal liability, Cruz doesn't have to tell people he got a loan to pay for his campaign. There's every reason to lie about it since it changes his narrative.
SIGH. Why not just admit that HE DID NOT DISCLOSE IT ON AN FEC FORM. PERIOD.
How much was the loan for? What was the exact disclosure that should have been on that FEC form?
.... This is yet another thing that bothers me. It is the same game of deception played over and over and over again by those in Congress to get themselves elected.
Why don’t you just be honest and admit that you are all in for DT no matter all the FACTS that show who he is really is and you will try to pump up anything against Cruz?
You are misleading what this was:
CNN's Dana Bash asked Cruz to explain his "very large loan" from Goldman Sachs following a campaign event in South Carolina.
"The premise of your question is not right," Cruz responded. "Heidi and I when we ran for Senate, we made decision to put our liquid net worth into the campaign. And so we did so through a combination of savings - liquidating our savings accounts - through a combination of selling assets, and then we had a brokerage account that has a standard margin loan that any brokerage account has, and we borrowed against the stocks and assets that we had under ordinary terms."

He took out essentially a line of credit against his own assets.
Trump has taken out loans to his campaign from himself which he is repaying with campaign donations. 30% of that money has gone to Trump owned companies.
Go dig around in That for a while.
I do look at the FACTS. I don’t ignore them.
For example, why can’t Obama be a British citizen? Do you know?
Why could Ann actually have conferred citizenship to Barry IF he was born in Kenya? Do you know?
I always look at the facts...no matter where they fall. I always have.
