Remember Donald Trump saying that he would spend $2 million a week on ads?
It looks like that didn't last.
Trump's campaign just placed its next flight of ads for the week of January 14-20, and -- with all stations accounted for -- he's only set to spend less than $700,000, according to an ad-buying source.
At the end of December, Trump told reporters "I'll be spending a minimum of $2 million a week and perhaps substantially more than that."
And he met the target of $2 million early in January, surprising some skeptics who thought his promise to dole out the cash was mostly bluster.
But the ad buying source said that Trump's buys for the coming week are only around $332,000 in the state of Iowa and $360,000 in New Hampshire.

If he’s in the lead, why spend the money?
He spends less, they criticize him.

Whatever he spends or doesnt spend, they criticize him.
The point isnt the spending, its the criticism.
Trump should spend nothing, he gets his advertising for free via his huge rallies and TV appearances. The man is a true genius and great money manager. Or should he spend $70MM like Bush and drop to single digits?
Or whatever. All I know is this is the guy I want fixing the US budget!
He could be running low on money. Maybe he should ask Goldman Sachs for a “loan”. But if he did he should not report it because it might look bad. :)

Thank God he’s not as wasteful as those who are in government. Have you forgotten- or did you not know, that agencies scramble to spend all the money they were allocated by a certain deadline so that they can get more?
He’s a Scot. Therefore, he’s most probably pretty *ahem frugal. GOOD! It is long overdue.

Plus he has guided businesses through 4 bankruptcies and come out on the top by saving them.
Our nation might want to have someone with experience in these matters...for when the time comes.
