Why Cruz Decided To Take On Trump
politico.com ^ | January 13

For months, Ted Cruz has laughed off Donald Trump's barbs, berated reporters who mentioned him and gone to near-comic lengths to publicly express enthusiasm for the real estate mogul's rival candidacy.

Cruz isn't laughing anymore.

Do you recall the term San Fransisco Democrats, where the term was used, and who said it?

Don’t you think, now that it’s out there, that Trump must address the issue of his own mental fitness to hold his first elected office? We cannot expect his three wives to answer it. It’s time for Trump to eliminate this concern before the Democrats use it against him in the general election allowing Hillary to win. We need to help Trump out on this.

We need to be sure, too, that Trump has no ties to organized crime. He was in bed with a lot of shady characters beside Bill, Hillary, and the Democrats.

You support ignorance which is unconscionable. The RIGHT of dissent is guaranteed in the Constitution and your telling people to go along with the flow and say nothing is beyond the pale. Far too many people are ill informed since schools don’t teach history and civics anymore, much less the circumstances and references used by the Framers. When the people follow leaders because they are too lazy to find out for themselves, the country is doomed. Your denigration has no effect on me. Believe what you will, but I will continue to attempt to wake people up with FACTS, not fiction!
George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Jay and many others, as well as Supreme Court cases establish the Vattel Law of Nations case. Original intent is quite clear. Ignoring it and attempting to say other sources have equal standing is both ignorant and decidedly irresponsible.

It’s time to look into Trump’s connections to organized crime. This issue won’t go away.

Yes, that’s a great example of how articulate he is, and how he likes to present himself as knowing things about which he clearly knows nothing about.

That is no lie. No telling if so. I went to college with guys from NY city and it was amazing to this country boy the stories they told about doing business in that place.

Having as much property as he does it would not surprise me he has done business with some shady outfits. I guess when you are in a den of vipers you got to do what it takes to get along.

Obviously you know nothing about doing business on Trump’s level. Guest lists are often simply “tools” where true friends are in the minority by far.

What evidence do you have that Trump knows how to do any of that? His voting record doesn’t support it, and his love of big government is not comforting.

Sorry. Not a clue.

Constitution does not detail the precise model for determining "natural born," and historically there have been several.

Allow me to use your most sensible post to make a prediction on how Cruz might address this thing in the debate tonight.

He speaks to the need that the Founders saw to preclude foreign allegiances. The "natural born" was considered as an extra layer of protection, meaning that a German national who gained citizenship by naturalization was not eligible to be President.

So, the "natural" descriptor refers to the circumstance of the natural act of his birth. That being, that his mother's citizenship conveys American citizenship to him.

And when Trump challenges him to go to court to get a "declaratory judgement", Trump replies:

"Are you speaking of the courts whose latest pronouncement is that a man marrying a man makes Holy Matrimony? No thanks. I will trust the American people to make the judgement on my allegiance."

He might even steal and modify Buckley's pronouncement,

I'd rather entrust the government of the United States to the first 400 people listed in the Boston telephone directory than to the faculty of Harvard University.

and apply it to SCOTUS.

Absolutely! He is also pragmatic which is a word the Cruz people don’t understand.

Oh, I understand a little about it. Maybe you can refute John MacArthur's remarks.

Pragmatism as a philosophy was developed and popularized at the end of the last century by philosopher William James, along with such other noted intellectuals as John Dewey and George Santayana. It was James who gave the new philosophy its name and shape. In 1907, he published a collection of lectures entitled Pragmatism: A New Name for Some Old Ways of Thinking, and thus defined a whole new approach to truth and life. Pragmatism has roots in Darwinism and secular humanism. It is inherently relativistic, rejecting the notion of absolute right and wrong, good and evil, truth and error. Pragmatism ultimately defines truth as that which is useful, meaningful, helpful. Ideas that don't seem workable or relevant are rejected as false.

In the political world? just what does that mean? Someone who sounds off grandstanding and doesn’t get anything done to STOP Obama, just votes to give Obama everything he wants? That’s Cruz’s record.
Trump was called to advise congressional committee on the effect of tax laws on business. The country was in an investment slump and banks were refusing to loan money. The Congress committees appealed to Trump for his expertise to help them solve the problem. I would call that being in the political world in a beneficial way. You just think politicians on the lifetime I V of the government payroll have more ability than someone who has made it in the REAL world. AND you are willing to continue that tradition to the detriment of the American people. The Founders and Framers did not envision lifetime politicians. They envisioned SERVANTS of We the People! I don’t see many in Washington today.

LOL....you don't understand my comment at all.

Neither do you understand NYC "SOCIETY" and what is meant by that, nor why he invited BIG NAMES to his wedding to Melania.

And no, I'm NOT going to explain it to you, because it would take too long, I can't be bother, you aren't amongst those "in the know" and you gave me a good laugh and hope that you keep on doing so.LOL

Welcome to the club...from a member of the Manhattan division. There are quite a LOT of us,in many different states, and our kinds, who may of may not have been born, don't like that he made a nasty crack about their parents or grandparents, either.

It was a particularly STUPID move on Cruz's part and rather pathetic to boot.

The man is an OBVIOUS SUCCESS. Even the blind like you ought to be able to see that. His entire life has been about hard work and building things. He believes in being the best. He does not believe in flawed second rate work. His own personal beliefs will drive him to do what he says he will do. His successes are painted in FULL LIVING COLOR all over the WORLD
Where are Cruz’s successes? Seems they are in giving Obama what he wants and weakening American Sovereignty. No Thanks!

Don’t intend to. I’m not interested in what a band of theorists has to say which twists and turns to cause people confusion. A pragmatic person understands reality. Try it sometime!
