...When one wishes to fail, at anything, all needed to be done is just call government and they would do it well.

Well said.

Government is no longer considered a last resort. An astounding percent of the public is corrupt.   Kennedy's famous phrase "Ask not what your country can do for you.   Ask what you can do for your country".   That maxim has been turned on it ear!

Self-Reliance is our salvation.   Always has been.

I remember when I first set up my small business 20 years ago.   A rookie business owner lacks common sense on how to run his organization.  He hears whispers in his ear: "you need more telephones, more employees, a copying machine, a bigger office..."

But if you listen to those sirens, your ship will surely dash against the rocks and be smashed to pieces.  It happened to me.

And yet, having your ship destroyed -- and even going bankrupt -- teaches you how to be smarter and more careful.  You learn to navigate and thus learn how to set a safe course to your goals.   And this is exactly the kind of time-tested, seaworthy intelligence we need in our next Captain.

But if government is your crutch, you lose your sea legs.   You lose your sense of how to move your career or business toward delivering real value to your fellow man — and rewards you and your family.

So many Americans have lost their sea legs. It is feared that many in the next generation never acquired them. Your pictorial essay not only makes Lady Liberty weep, many of my generation are weeping as well. Thank you, my fellow traveler.
