Dramatic video shows ten American sailors on their knees as they surrendered to Iranian troops in the Persian Gulf while a U.S. 'commander' is filmed apologizing to the revolutionary guard
Footage of sailors on the floor, with hands behind their heads surrounded by Iranian guards has been released It was aired on the Islamic republic's state television after the Navy personnel were freed following a standoff When the sailors were taken off of the boats in the Persian Gulf, they were questioned by the IRGC Later the captives were pictured looking relaxed while sitting on a big carpet sharing plates of food and water One of the sailors was filmed apologizing for their unit's 'mistake' and praised the Iranian's 'fantastic' behavior A female sailor with the group was given a makeshift head scarf to wear while they enjoyed the meal Reports by state media inside Iran stated the U.S. issued a grovelling apology before the sailors were freed However John Kerry's spokesman said there is 'zero truth' to reports the Secretary of State said sorry Kerry did however tell Tehran the release of the sailors would be a 'good story' for both the countries

[[I can’t imagine a US Navy boat operating in the Middle East would even allow the approach of another boat let alone surrender without some specific authorization from way above them in the chain of command. ]]
Exactly, something just doesn’t smell right here- IF this is what our military has been forced into becoming, a unit that surrenders just to avoid conflict- then God help us-
[[The US boats had enough armaments to mount a significant defense against the Iranian boats, and probably could have easily defeated the Iranians even without calling for air support.]]
Again- exactly- why didn’t they make it absolutely clear that an aggressive approach would have been construed as a hostile act and would be met with force IF the Iranian boat came any closer?
[[The headquarters of the US Fifth fleet was only about 120 miles away, and apparently US air resources are located about 20 miles further away.]]
What we SHOULD have been seeing on the news stations was reports that jets had been scrambled to their location, and that there was a tense standoff between the Americans and the Iranians, NOT reports showing them with their hands on their heads bowing in submission and apologizing
SWCC? You mean they were SEALS??

Obama has sacked a lot of Navy commanders in the last few years.
....Kill the soldiers and risk their %150 BILLION...
I think they just sunk their money by attacking two Navy boats and waving around our troops like fodder.
I’m guessing they will attack a Navy war ship next, money or no money. They have no fear of Obama retaliating so they are in the catbird seat with Russia by their side.
I wonder about what really happened, too. Also, there was a female sailor captured. Wonder if they raped her.
Article V: When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service, number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause.
In my opinion, since we don’t know the details, FROM THE SOLDIERS INVOLVED, we have no idea what they did or did not do in this attack on them by the Iranians.
We will never know the truth about this because, as you said, the sailors will be silenced.
There was a female soldier captured. Given Islamists love sexually torturing infidels, can you imagine the threats that were made in this situation. Or maybe she was raped.
I’m not buying it. I have been to Kansas many times. : )
The might not be SEALs per se, but SWCCs are similarly trained.
SWCCs and SEALs receive nearly the same training.
Both get BUDS, both go through SERE but the SWCCs get Boat and Small Arms and Heavy weapons training where as the SEALs get SEAL school. (2 weeks longer than SWCC school.)

Will The Pentagon Pursue Charges Against The Sailor Who Apologized To Iran? [VIDEO]

One of the 10 sailors apprehended by Iran apologized to Iranian media for entering Iranian waters Wednesday, possibly violating military code of conduct regulations.
The sailor and his nine colleagues were taken and held by Iranian forces Tuesday after they accidentally entered Iranian waters Tuesday. The sailors were held overnight in Iran and released Wednesday. Video surfaced of the sailor apologizing for the the event on Iranian media on Twitter a few hours after the release.
“It was a mistake, that was our fault, and we apologize, for our mistake,” said the sailor. It is unclear based on the video whether or not the sailor was forced to say the statement under duress.
When asked about the video by the Washington Times, Chris Harner, a former naval officer and analyst for the Institute for the Study of War, said “the substance of [the] problem here is the U.S. Navy looks extraordinarily incompetent. . . in its ability to transit boats without violating Iranian waters, they look incompetent to know how to deal with a mechanical malfunction, and now that they’ve been taken into custody, they’re apologizing.”
5 Lies the Obama Administration Told to Defend Iran’s Humiliating Seizure of Navy Sailors
by Ben Shapiro13 Jan 2016
Barack Obama has a history of humiliating photo-ops associated with his full-blown Radical Islam Denial Syndrome: the burning consulate in Benghazi juxtaposed with Obama partying it up in Vegas with Beyonce; the dead bodies of ISIS-slain Parisians juxtaposed with Obama telling the world that ISIS could be fought with a climate change summit; corpses in San Bernardino juxtaposed with Obama simultaneously telling a national audience that ISIS was contained.
Perhaps the worst one yet happened on Tuesday.
As Obama prepared for his last State of the Union address - an event he pitched with hijinks and mugging for the cameras - the Iranian Revolutionary Guard arrested 10 American sailors and seized two Navy boats. Obama never mentioned it in his State of the Union address; the day after the address, Iran returned the sailors, unharmed.
“This Was Just Standard Nautical Practice.”
“They Are Being Sort of Afforded The Proper Courtesy That You Would Expect.”
“There Was No Looking For Any Apology.”
“I Also Want to Thank The Iranian Authorities For Their Cooperation and Quick Response.”
“This Is A Testament To The Critical Role That Diplomacy Plays.”
No time for Code of Conduct training. Too busy with equal opportunity, diversity is our strength, gay pride, & transgender awareness training.
US apologizes for Iran naval incursion - Revolutionary Guards

Image caption This file photo shows a riverine patrol boat, the type seized by Iran
The US has apologized to Iran after 10 American sailors were arrested for entering Iranian waters, the commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards naval forces has said.
General Ali Fadavi accused those detained of “unprofessional” acts.
Giving his assessment of the talks, Gen Fadavi said “Mr Zarif had a firm stance, saying that they were in our territorial waters and should not have been, and saying that they [the US] should apologise”.
“This has been done and it will not take long, and the naval force, according to its hierarchy, will act immediately upon the orders it receives,” he added.

Ex-Navy Officer ‘Disappointed’ Sailor Apologized to Iran: ‘No Business’ Doing That
by Josh Feldman 3:01 pm, January 13th, 2016

Navy cnn
An ex-Navy officer on CNN this afternoon admitted he really wasn’t happy that one of the U.S. soldiers held by Iran ended up apologizing on video.
Christopher Harmer told Brooke Baldwin that violations of airspace or water space in the Persian Gulf are unfortunately common. He lamented how any soldier representing the Navy—and by extension the government—would be “apologizing on behalf of the U.S. government.”
He said every officer is trained to only give certain information and then “be quiet” if you’re in custody. Harmer said that whatever else happens, this incident is “very valuable” in Iran for the propaganda aspect.
LOUIE GOHMERT:
I understand that John Kerry has indicated that look, when he got word, he and Ash Carter called the Iranians to, you know, help take care of our Navy guys ‘cause they had some mechanical problems. When our Navy ships have problems, we don’t call Iran, we call the rest of the Navy. We can call the Air Force, the Army, the Marines, Coast Guard. We don’t call Iran. There are secrets on every military ship we have that has no business being in the hands of the Iranians. So for the Iranians to even issue a statement at all saying, “We are going to release them soon,” tells you that they control whether or not they can leave. That situation should not be allowed to happen.

Couscous Eating Surrender Monkeys: Or WWPD
Ask yourself - WWPD (what would Putin Do?) Answer, not what Barry and Kerry did.
And as it turns out The Donald didn’t create the best recruiting tool for ISIS. That honor belongs to The Won, for his not-so-insignificant role in the production of the video of our Navy seaman (and, Allah forbid, seawoman!) acting like couscous eating surrender monkeys.
Congratulations to our Washington production crew: every man woman and child of fighting age in the Middle East will be viewing this American embarassment forever. Even fellow Nobel Peace Prize winner Jimmy Carter can’t claim that distinction.
And it took all of a nanosecond for Iran to capitalize on their excellent YouTube video-making skills.
“This incident in the Persian Gulf, which probably will not be the American forces’ last mistake in the region, should be a lesson to troublemakers in the U.S. Congress,” Major General Hassan Firouzabadi, head of Iran’s armed forces, was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency.
So in other words, “Listen up you little Republican pizzants in the American Congress: don’t even think about scuttling the most excellent deal that your most excellent Leader made with the most Excellent Republic of Iran, or we will take more of your soldiers and sailors prisoners. And next time they won’t fare as well.”
Well done el Presidente Barry, sidekick Jean Carre and spokesmouth Josh-in-Earnest: Now we ARE Charlie Hebdo.
Butt now, a message for the leaders of Al Qaeda, ISIS, ISIL and the great Republic of Iran from the non-couscous eating surrender monkey segment of the United States (and we are legion): We Will Meet Again.

The Mullahs Humiliate America — Again and Again
Obama’s appeasement bears its catastrophic fruit.
January 14, 2016
Joseph Klein
On January 12th, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard seized two U.S. naval patrol boats with ten sailors aboard. The vessels had evidently strayed a little over a mile into Iranian territorial waters. Iran released the sailors a day later, but not before trying to reap as much propaganda value from the incident as possible. The semiofficial Fars news agency claimed “the American ships were ‘snooping’ around in Iranian waters.” The captors photographed the sailors after they were evidently forced to their knees with their hands over their heads. The display of such humiliating photographs of disarmed military prisoners is arguably a violation of the Geneva Convention.
Iran used the incident to send a message to Congress - don’t even think about instituting new sanctions. “This incident in the Persian Gulf, which probably will not be the American forces’ last mistake in the region, should be a lesson to troublemakers in the US Congress,” Major General Hassan Firouzabadi, head of Iran’s armed forces, was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency.
This incident followed the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s provocative firing late last December of missiles within 1,500 yards of the Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, which had been traveling in international waters.
Secretary of State John Kerry put a happy face on the release of the sailors. Kerry thanked the Iranians for their “cooperation” and characterized the positive outcome as proof that the diplomacy leading to the nuclear deal had paid off.

Interesting!
So they have women SWCC crewmen? Do they go through BUDS?
I see where the Pentagon said there was actually a navigational error, it’s really hard for me to believe that...
Thank you,
Ed
