Donald Trump is staking his run for U.S. president in part on a vow to protect American jobs. But this month, one of his companies, the elite Mar-a-Lago Club resort in Florida, applied to import 70 foreign workers to serve as cooks, wait staff and cleaners.
A Reuters analysis of U.S. government data reveals that this is business as usual in the New York property magnate's empire.
Trump owns companies that have sought to import at least 1,100 foreign workers on temporary visas since 2000, according to U.S. Department of Labor data reviewed by Reuters. Most of the applications were approved, the data show.

Legal and temporary
Many hotels do this
The Grand Hotel in Point Clear Alabama a Marriott property does this
Hyatt Regencies do too
My best friend met his drop dead hot solid 9.95 wifey this way in Key West
It’s no different than fruit pickers used to be just higher end
They usually come in on one year work visa
Some apply for green cards some don’t
Trump didn’t do that. Eric Holder & Alberto Gonzalez(probably a buddy of Ted Cruz like Bush Jr at one point) put a gun to the head of HR managers.
Can’t help it; it’s too funny, lol.
You’re a charitable person. :)
Perhaps she meant caricature.
Don’t give a rip. He followed the law. If more people followed the law we wouldn’t be in the position we’re in.
If the American people are content with sending idiots to Congress, why jump are you jumping on a man for following the law?
Legally and It is for temporary employees. The airlines have a lot of work visa employees........and most join the union as soon as they can.
What kind of company is Cruz asking visas for? Trump is actually going to use these people. A lot of them are trained waiters, waitresses and bar tenders. Our people do not have the TRAINING the foreigners have in waiting tables, except in a few instances.
If he can get the right people here. I have my doubts.
H-1Bs are supposed to be temporary too.
I think you’re thinking of St. Paul’s Cathedral and not a Trump building.
Yes I would. In fact, I have a team in China. Business is business. The ‘right thing’? oh please. Next you’ll tell me how a living wage is the right thing to do.

So your man Trump is going to “bring those jobs back from China and overseas”. Are those just pandering words or should he do it? Should he force you to “bring the jobs home”? What precisely (beyond his VAGUE GENERALITIES AND SLOGANEERING) are the details of Trumps plan to “bring the jobs back”?
Enquiring minds want to know.
My answer to both questions is NO, IT IS NOT RIGHT. And TRUMP IS A HYPOCRITE saying others traveling the Cheap Labor Express is BAD (and something he will fix) but he just goes about his business on the CHEAP LABOR EXPRESS and that is OK.

First of all Trump does not directly manage his many properties. A manger made this decision knowing his boss was running on a platform of America first in hiring . So something is not right here but you do deserve and answer I think one is coming.

Ahh...so “the buck” stops somewhere below Trump and he is not responsible for any hypocritical practices HIS businesses employ. It seems like the Limbaugh Theorem (invented by Rush Limbaugh to explain Obama’s approach to everything) applies to Trump just as it applies to Obama.
The Limbaugh Theorem: Obama (and now Trump) has mastered the ability to always be seen as “opposing everything that’s happening, even the things he is causing to happen. He is on a perpetual campaign.”
