Donald Trump says Ted Cruz should leave the presidential race

WASHINGTON— Donald Trump stepped up his attack on Sen Ted Cruz’s eligibility to run for president Wednesday calling for Cruz to drop out of the race.

Donald J Trump
@realDonaldTrump
"Sadly, there is no way that Ted Cruz can continue running in the Republican Primary unless he can erase doubt on eligibility. Dems will sue!"

Trump recently warned the GOP that if Cruz becomes the nominee ,the party would be risking the White House. Trump claims Democrats would hold up the election in court, litigating whether or not Cruz is considered a natural born citizen.

Trump’s views on Cruz’s eligibility have changed throughout the campaign.

The first time he was asked about Cruz’s Canadian birth in 2013, Trump, the loudest ‘birther’ questioning the legitimacy of President Barack Obama citizenship, wasn’t sure if Cruz was qualified. Trump was still not convinced last March, months before announcing his own bid for president. By September, Trump said he was confident Cruz had the legal standing to run.

I don’t know. Far as I know McCain got a resolution from the house or senate or both.

I’m not sure that he got something from a court or not.

I view a resolution from the house and senate as meaningless. It’s just a bunch of people’s opinions, and frankly it’s a bunch of people that I don’t have any respect or regard for to begin with.

Trump has no incentive to sue. He is getting everything he wants out of the accusation alone. He put a cap on Cruz’s support. Where that cap is, we’ll know about the 1st of March.

Nice try...we won’t know until April or later.

Yes, that is exactly what would happen.

Maybe this is some weird scheme to finally unveil the mystery of the Won to the uninitiated masses.

Trump has been exposing an awful lot of corruption.

This guy is in back of the limo with the rest of D.C. Some will admit it, others are simply connected to the government payroll/Wall Street and are the dwindling remains of the D.C. con-job.

Misnomer is the incorrect use of a name, but otherwise you’re probably correct.

Trump has never done well in the debates. I’ve watched them all and he’s done very badly. Back when I wanted him to do well, he made me nervous with making faces all the time.

Yet all his supporters go to Drudge and say he won.

So maybe they don’t matter.

The play is not to convince a Cruz supporter, it is to bait Cruz into any action in this area so the press can pretend it is legitimate. The right course for Ted is to ignore the attacks and be above the fray. The more the birthers ramp up the volume, the more they look like the crazies. Trump has managed to make Senator Cruz look like the reasonable politician and now he is doubling down to make him look like the sane one. In a weird way, I could believe Trump is trying to help Cruz.

First he attacked Cruz....and all the talk radio folks got on him. So he looked for another way he could ‘disable’ Cruz without criticizing...the tactic he has chosen is to question his eligibility. What is wrong with creating doubt? Isn’t the goal of anyone running to win?????

I believe Cruz is a citizen certainly, I don’t believe he is a Natural Born Citizen, if I am being honest about what I believe that was intended to mean. However, I do think Ted would be a great President if that were to happen. I just think that the Founders had a specific intention in mind and I would like it to be followed, regardless of the outcome regarding Ted Cruz.

Yes the Senate voted unanimously for McLame. They all agreed he was eligible. The current Senate despises cruz!

I bet you people would disagree with Moses and his tablet too.

I’m not sure if everyone can be convinced either, not even by a SCOTUS ruling.

I think it may boil down to what is the best way to effectively convince as many people as you can that there is no issue, and I’m not sure what the answer to that is, because how does one get a court to rule on it prior to the election?

Whatever the case, I am in control of what’s in my mind, and I say he’s eligible, and I would vote for him with no reservation.

People might have to arrive at their own conclusion on this and go with it.

A lot of people don’t have a sense of humor and therefore miss Ted’s subtle little jokes.

The Ted is a New Yorker was one but I had no idea New Yorkers were so sensitive.

I was watching the SOTU last night and most of the people who were present looked completely soulless to me.

Yeah, I saw the senate refused to do the same for Cruz the other day, and I was just floored!

What a bunch of snakes.
