Again, it’s a stupid choice. The song has nothing to do with being born in the US. It is about criticizing the Vietnam War years after it ended. It’s not a patriotic song.
And Trump isn’t the first Presidential candidate to play it a rally. Not by a long shot.
It’s really more about what the title of the song implies. You know, Trump is the only viable candidate born in the USA. Been awhile since a POTUS has been, I’d like to see it again.
Vietnam War was stupid.
And how many low information voters do you think realize that, or give a crap either way?
They know it's called "Born in the U.S.A.". They know it's a dig at Cruz. It's on the same level as his tweeting a picture of Bush picking his nose. I'm a Cruz supporter and I think it's funny. I think it's brilliant campaigning that plays right to Trump's base, who seem to love him precisely because of his juvenile, smack-talking style.
I do think the HIGHLY over rated, ignorant, talentless, lefty, Springsteen is going to whine and squeal about Trump using his song, though.
Perhaps Trump is not as aware of the lyrics and intent of the song and maybe correctly assumes that none of his fans are either.
They aren’t the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree.
