Trump Has Started Playing 'Born In The USA' At Rallies To Taunt Cruz
Talking Points ^

Posted on 01/12/2016 7:16:32 PM PST by TigerClaws

Now that he has raised questions about Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) Canadian birth and American citizenship, Donald Trump has started playing Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" before campaign rallies, according to reports in The Weekly Standard and the Texas Tribune.

The introduction of the song may be an attempt by the real estate mogul to troll Cruz as many openly wonder whether he is eligible to run for president.

Cruz was born in Canada, but his mother was an American citizen, earning Cruz citizenship in the United States at birth. The Texas senator has repeatedly said that he is eligible to run for president.

It’s really more about what the title of the song implies. You know, Trump is the only viable candidate born in the USA. Been awhile since a POTUS has been, I’d like to see it again.

“Bruce will be along any minute now to put a stop to that. “

He cant. All he can do is whine. Guaranteed that Trump paid the licensing fee and Bruce got paid.

Cruz should play “You’re So Vain” with video clips of DT on a big screen.

Trump doesn’t want to address substance.

Hopefully, Trump was wise enough to write the check first. Everyone knows Bruce Springsteen is one of the Useful Tools and Fools of the left, like Stevie Wonder and Carly Simon have become.

And when the primaries are over the winner can hire Jame Taylor to sing You’ve Got A Friend to the mend fences with the loser before the general gets into gear.

“Regardless, these people need to listen to lyrics before they just play songs in order to convey a message.”

You might be overthinking it. They typically play just the hook of the song, and not the whole thing. Or even just the music sans words.
Sean Hannity plays that lame independence day song every day about some woman burning her husband to death. But he just uses the line about “letting freedom ring”.....

If the venue or Trump’s (or anyone’s) campaign has paid for an ASCAP or BMI license, they can play any damn song they please.

It replaces the song "We're Not Gonna Take It" which was also an obvious taunt to Cruz as in we're not gonna take another foreign born president. /sarc

Okay, Cruz supporters...just joking around....don't go postal.

Really? Is Trump an adult or is he a 5-year-old. Instead of having logical and mature discussions about problems he holds rallies to discredit Cruz and uses an anti-American song to prove how American he is compared to Cruz. That’s disgusting and puerile. Sounds like something Obama would do.

RE:”Mayhap he wants to ask Cruz to be his VP and wants to make sure he is eligible.”

Yep, and Trump knows the best way to vet his future VP pick is to go on MSM TV shows telling the whole world that you think he is not eligible for that same job, but you hope that you are wrong and are rooting for him, just before a critical primary.

Trump has a heart of Gold being so defensive of Cruz.

And his being worried about the GOP if things didn't work out for them. .

I kinda’ hate that song because of the so-called “artist” that sang it.

How can Cruz claim to be a Natural Born Citizen of the USA, when he openly renounced his equally legal status of dual Canadian citizenship in 2014?

It is impossible for a USA natural born citizen to have dual citizenship. Period!

DUH!

Glad that I don’t listen to Hannity, then. That’s just plain bizarre.
