Appearing on the O'Reilly Factor last night, with guest host Juan Williams, radio host Leslie Marshall and conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart agreed that a potential Donald Trump candidacy is a bad sign for America.
Marshall warned America about what happens when you elect a celebrity for office like they did in California with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
"No experience, a lot of celebrity and a lot of cult of personality. And we see more of that in politics. So I would say don't underestimate the Donald.

"Quite frankly, this celebrity goes a long way. Remember, the number one reason people vote for a candidate, Juan, is name recognition. He has huge name recognition."
Breitbart also did not seem to be a fan of Trump either, saying "he is not a conservative." He also had a warning for Republicans if they don't get their act together.
"Celebrity is everything in this country. And if these guys don't learn how to play the media the way that Barack Obama played the media last election cycle and the way that Donald Trump is playing the election cycle, we're going to probably get a celebrity candidate."

Believe it or not- most hardcore conservatives were liberals.
You are the only other person on the board who's brought up Atwater. I thought he was one of the few Republicans who fought like a Democrat. The grand poobah's of the GOP seem to want to forget him. Without him, Bush might have lost to Dukakis.
“The grand poobah’s of the GOP seem to want to forget him”
They acted like they hated him at the time. Well I guess it wasn’t an act, the scum running the RNC really did hate him. I thought he was great, it’s the type of political fighting that I love.
It reminds me of what the crew over at Vdare call the Thick End of the Wedge theory. There are two views on how you can influence public debate. The usual sissies think that you should insert a slight modification into your opponent’s argument and ever so slightly push him towards your position. Lather rinse repeat, and after a zillion years he might be slightly closer to your position. That’s the Thin End Theory.
In contrast there’s the Thick End Theory. You grab the wedge by the thin end and pound your opponent with the thick end as hard as possible. Then stand back and see what happens.
