Former French President Nicholas Sarkozy has spoken out in defence of his country’s Jewish population as he was honoured for protecting France’s Jews at a dinner in central London on Sunday night.
The Conference of European Rabbis presented the politician, who is expected run for a second term in office in 2017, with an award in honour of his efforts to support French Jewry as interior minister and later president.
He said: “We do not want French Jews to leave France because they are afraid. We want them to be comfortable to wear a kippah. We must stand up to protect our Jewish communities. It is impossible not to. We did not fight the Nazis to force the Jews to run to Israel 70 years later.â€
Mr. Sarkozy was the first recipient of the Rabbi Moshe Rosen prize, initiated in memory of the former Chief Rabbi of Romania who for many years safeguarded his community through great self-sacrifice during years of communist rule.

Nice sentiment, but courageous individual French men and women aside, Sarkozy's nation allied with the Nazis. French police rounded up Jews, their military fought the allies in North Africa. Only briefly.

It's hard to know what the left and quasi-left mean by that. He wants to deport Muslims? No. Give every Jew a bodyguard? No. He means do an investigation after the next 7 yo Jewish girl is shot in the face.

That is such a load of BS! Islam has not changed its m.o. since the seventh century. The politicians of the WWII era were quite aware of the history of Islam, its adherents, and how they ravaged Europe in earlier times. And they went ahead and imported them as cheap labor to re-build Europe all the while lying to the Europeon public that the Muzzies were going to leave once the re-building was complete.
If Sarkozy was a smart man he would have said that those politicians at that time made a serious mistake importing them because Islam is antithetical to every positive aspect of Western culture and the religions that were foundational to them (Judaism and Christianity) and that they should be exported back to their countries of origin.
The Nazis were only in power 12 years (1933-1945). Arab terrorism in Europe against Jews has been going on since at least the 1970’s (Munich Olympics). 44 years?
No allied power who fought Germany between 1939-1945 made the fate of the Jews part of their rationale for war.

Sarkozy is a lying pig. He completely opposes anti-immigration positions of Le Pen. Without those policies Jews will continue to leave because muslims will continue to flood in
