Thank you for contacting me about the Stop Sanctuary Policies and Protect Americans Act.
On October 20, 2015, the Senate voted to reject consideration of the Sanctuary Policies and Protect Americans Act. I voted against the bill because I share many of the concerns of the law enforcement organizations, faith communities, labor groups, and human rights and domestic violence prevention organizations who oppose it. This bill would do nothing to fix our broken immigration system. Instead, it would demonize immigrants, create new mandatory minimum sentences that would further overcrowd our prison system, and make our communities less safe by blocking critical funding for law enforcement and community development for so-called "sanctuary" cities and jurisdictions. It is the wrong approach to demand that local law enforcement agencies use their limited resources for federal immigration enforcement - one that would erode public safety and the relationship between law enforcement and their communities.
I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with me, and even though we disagree about this issue, I hope that you will reach out to my office again in the future about issues that are important to you, or if I can ever be of assistance.

Hillary won’t get indicted.
Cheryl Mills might get indicted, but Obama will pardon her at the last possible moment.
Liz Warren will step in to run in place of Hillary.
Reason: Hillary promised the ‘senior aide to the President’ position to Cheryl Mills.
Liz Warren has promised it to Valerie Jarrett.
Obama is leaving office, but Valerie Jarrett does not plan to give up her position.
