I like both Trump and Cruz. I don't like how emotionally, rather than cogently, attached many of the Trump supporters are - frankly many of you are shrill, inaccurate, and are not engaging with facts.

I have seen that on both sides but it is worse on the Trump side.

Ignoring Trumps past, which is risky, but looking at each candidates current written positions - Cruz is certainly more consistently conservative - especially on social issues.

But - the point has been made - and I think it is a good point - that Trump might very well be more effective in actually getting some conservative issues rammed through DC.

One the particular point of this thread Marcella stated it best: "Trump said he would forcibly deport illegals and let the “good ones” come back fast legally. Cruz says he will use the law to deport them and NEVER let them come back. That has been the Cruz plan from day one. He has not changed.

Trump cannot grab them out of their homes, put them on busses and take them out. Every single one would have to go to court to be deported and that would take years. Cruz, using E-Verify, would result in them being fired and they would have no job, so would start leaving. They will not be allowed back. The ones here now who are criminals would be sent back immediately and not allowed back

Why are we spending money on I.C.E.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has two primary components: Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO).

I would think removing the criminal invader element is not going to be easy. It will take some tactics that wouldn’t be necessary in a lot of other places. Some of those ethnically pure neighborhoods are pretty “tight” and don’t seem to take well to external outreach. That’s my impression anyway.

Takes Trump out....really...unfortunately to me it sounds as if wifie is bringing Ted more to the gope-y positions...and that is beginning to concern me. IT had always been Trump - Cruz or Cruz - Trump for me but now seems only Trump could do the napalm that the gov and both party mainstreams and msm needs to eradicate and give the country time to heel and get itself back together. Cruz is becoming the gope fire line to stop Trump! Hope I am wrong though.

Hope I am wrong, but gope will help cruz to take out Trump, then turn on him and go for rubie or bush!

Cruz is counting on a religious base to turn out. Be aware that significant payments are being made to these churches to take care of the poor. That is why every time Trump starts talking about throwing out illegals, the same churches that receive these funds howl about how unchristian he is. They also are taking refugee money..Follow the money.

How is going to someone’s door to arrest them of a crime a “police state”?

Cruz is obtuse here - trying to please both conservatives and the Goldman Sachs crowd.

Sorry in 2016 we need a leader not a follower.

Moderates want takeover of our country? No. Moderates want to say they’re compassionate toward illegals so they don’t have to take a stand in an argument, to some general degree

But they will vote for mass deportation in the privacy of tge voting booth

I was very big on Cruz and I know he’ll be good in the senate very good. But as a friend said six months ago while I was campaigning for him off the cuff “eh. He’s a politician”

Cruz must rely on donors and he must take care of their demands. We pretend someone giving money large wants constitutional principals. Of that they’ll let their donee do what he wants in office. Forget it

"Does he think Ike was a storm trooper president?"

I have no idea what Cruz thinks about Ike's deportation policies. Please enlighten me if Ike went "door to door". I could Google, but I'm too tired and too lazy. I highly doubt that's how Ike deported so many, which was a fraction of our illegal immigrant problem now.

As I said, moderates want strict immigration enforcement.

A major mistake the media and Parties made was not realizing this: it’s the moderates who want it, not a ‘fringe’.

What Cruz wants to do would work, but what Trump says he would do would work faster and better. The difficulty is always knowing who means what he says. Maybe both, maybe not.

His enforcement method would take 1000 years to deport the millions of illegals. He sounds like a democrat.

Trump will make them legal instead.

Actually Cruz would make his Hispanic brothers and sisters legal.

Cruz’s plan would work as well as it is working now.

Do you think it’s working well now?

Actually Cruz would make his Hispanic brothers and sisters legal.

Uh, no. Try READING both of their plans. Trump has made it clear he plans an expedited return after deportation RAPIDLY. There, see how it's done? I support what I say. Now you try it.

“Ted wants illegals to stay.”

How can you live with yourself, stating blatant lies like this?

Cruz does not want to deport 11 million law breakers.

I’m guessing neither do you.

Right. Trump is beholden to nobody. Because of his yuge wealth. Because he is so rich, he is only motivated to do good. Like Soros and Gore. Right?
