This is the kind of tactic the left uses all the time. In fact it’s the main enforcement mechanism of political correctness. Make the focus on how something was said, take exaggerated offense, and falsely attribute meaning to a statement that was never there. Marginalize the speaker to avoid having to deal with the substance of what he’s said. Some Freepers around here are disturbingly good at it.
