In my career I was a psychological examiner and would go to a mental hospital to test patients. A woman patient told me the Mob was after her and that is why she took her two small children into the woods to live, to hide from the Mob.
On the surface, one would immediately think she had to be “crazy” to do such a thing. I, however, held her future in my hands and I had to be sure she was not telling the truth about the Mob. I probed her background, finding out what her past was to the extent I knew she had no connection to the Mob. My battery of mental tests backed up she had schizophrenia with delusions.
My point is, if someone thinks the Mob is after him/her, make sure that is not true before classifying someone “nuts” because he/she thinks that.
In your situation, your tagline says: “Just because I'm paranoid doesn't prove that they aren't out to get me.” In evaluating you, I would need you to tell me who “they” are who is out to get you. We would start from there. :o)
