The whinging on about how many fewer people work in manufacturing is pointless as well as stupid. Even if there were no other country in the world - i.e., no foreign trade to get one’s panties in a twist about - one would hope that there would be fewer people per capita working in manufacturing today than there were 75 years ago; that’s just plain old progress and improving productivity.
There’s one hell of a difference between a “government worker” who’s willing to risk his life for my freedom and one who sits behind a desk twiddling their thumbs.
