I agree. As Rush said the other day “have at it boys!”
These guys are fighting for the highest office of the land, neither are perfect, and let the best man win!
So, is Trump willingly ignorant of Cruz’s positions or purposely deceitful?
Donald’s a liar. He has been all along with his change of position. Don’t expect anything different in the future.
Trump's position is consistent with his support for big government.
Cruz' position is consistently free market.
Cruz advocates removing the ethanol mandate over a five-year period.
Cruz would allow the marketplace to determine the percentage of ethanol in a gasoline/ethanol blend. The elimination of the "blend wall" would REDUCE EPA REGULATION.
You are for the free market, aren't you?
The Donald is not taking a “tack”. This is to stir continued interest in the various facets of the Trump-Cruz dialogue.
Did Ted Cruz “flip-flop” as alleged? Not exactly. The corn-based ethanol mandate has until 2022 to run, and the reality is, not going to be overturned before then. Supposedly, cellulosic feedstocks will be the replacement coming on line, assuming the technical problems shall be solved by then.
There are endless pros and cons for the use of ethanol as an ingredient for motor fuel. The CHEAP way to greatly expand the use of ethanol is to import the excess production from Brazil, at an unsubsidized price. Another alternative is to MAKE the ethanol from a fraction of natural gas, ethylene, catalytically combined with water vapor.
C3H4 + H2O (in presence of catalyst) ——> C2H5OH.
Most of the industrial ethanol is produced by this process.
Personally, I would much prefer to convert all motor vehicle fuel to Compressed Natural Gas, using swap-out filled tanks for the near-empty tank, and altering the engine design to run on CNG or other bottled pressurized LPG fractions (ethane, propane, butane).
Diesels can run perfectly well on CNG, as well as spark-ignition engines. The technology is well proven and has been in use for decades.
Sure, if you cherry pick one quote from the article and ignore the rest where he advocates for letting the market decide.
Phase Out?? You gotz to forgive them. They thought that was the sword thingy done in the star wars movies.
You need to post that GIF of the crying girl saying “Leave My Cruz Alone”. It’s a freking campaign, this is nothing compared to what Cruz would get if he was a candidate in the general election. What the hell is wrong with you people, this is barely the beginning. Would you prefer that Cruz suspend his campaign until Trump promises to play nice?
Here is a hard question for the Trumpites...
(I use the term Trumpites because it denotes a cult. As in a cult of personality.)
Name a liberal position that Trump didn’t support a few years ago...?
I can understand Trump... He’s a creature of reality T.V..
The guy I really don’t understand is Rush. Rush was relentlessly against Romney during the last primaries (and rightfully so). Romney’s chief crime against conservatism? Romneycare (Trump supported single payer etc.). In terms of flip flopping, Romney pales in comparison to Trump. And yet the positive earn media that Trump has got on the Rush Limbaugh show has been through the roof. Rarely does Rush say anything critical. He’s always positive about or defending Trump. It Rush wants to dedicate his show to Trump, the fine. But it would do Rush’s credibility and reputation a favor if Rush presented the whole Trump - good and bad (his past). Rush always laments how the MSM shows it’s bias by what it refuses to report - what it covers up. How is Rush any different when it comes to Trump for the last six months?
As president, I will rescind the EPA’s blend wall, allowing ethanol to command a much larger share of the energy market. How much difference will that make for Iowa corn farmers?
Sure sounds like he’s for it now.

You have either minimal or zero understanding of the issue, I’m sorry to tell you. Cruz is for getting the government completely out of the ethanol mandating and regulating business. He, rightfully IMHO, wants to let individual people and the economy decide how much ethanol they want to use and employ that strange thing called the FREE MARKET determine how much ethanol to use. The government should be neither mandating the use of ethanol nor restricting the amount of ethanol that can be used.
Millions of individual consumers and individual producers will sort it all out. That’s something that those of us who believe in PRIVATE FREE ENTERPRISE believe. Private free enterprise is a target of statists and big government types who believe the government should be micro-managing the economy. Cruz is right on this issue.
He has progressed from ridicule to innuendo to outright lies.
He can't handle losing.
Only two candidates are against ethanol: Rand and Cruz.
So yes, on this issue Cruz is the most conservative, but he’s trying to hide the fact that his stance is anti-ethanol.
Also Cruz never flip flopped, but he is using double-speak to have his cake and eat it too in Iowa.
They are running for the same job. Only one opening so they wil! engage. Rush by the way said regarding Trump answering a birther question about Cruz was that he was not going to get in the middle of it.
Grifter. Slanderer. Liar. And now, pig.
And his supporters think he's a "winner."
Ok so you respond to my argument with a personal attack...nice. Can’t wait for the next debates, see you on caucus night!
You are so right. He is thin- skinned. He attacks people who are of no consequence. If a down and out vagrant where to bad-mouth him he would feel obligated to respond. He doesn't have Presidential-Timber and never will.
I wonder when Trump is going to stop lying about Ted Cruz.
Won’t hold my breath to find out.

Are you a high schooler in your mommy’s basement with your “GIF of the crying girl” childishness? I think these back and forths with Trump and Cruz are quite revealing. This particular one involving ethanol illustrates some critical differences between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump.
Ted Cruz wants to get government out of the business of micro-managing every detail of the economy and Trump is saying he’s perfectly OK with government doing that micromanagement. Ted Cruz is showing that he won’t sacrifice his core beliefs to pander for votes. I don’t know whether Trump is pandering or not since I’ve come to realize that I don’t really know what his core beliefs are.
