I’d like to see senators placed back under the control of the state legislatures.

I’m not being sarcastic here. Will that make a difference? If it does, how? I mean, looking at the state legislators in my own state, it won’t change a thing.

Iâd like to see senators placed back under the control of the state legislatures. Definitely.

I could not agree more. Selecting the Senators by statewide election gives the advantage to Senators with strong support in the urban centers of each state. That consolidation has also introduced a lot of outside money into those races.

Me too. The 17th Amendment needs to be repealed.

Are you aware that the reason the 17th amendment was passed in the first place was because everyone was so upset at the corruption due to senators being appointed by the state legislatures?

I would like to see senators placed back under the control of the state legislatures.
In California (and several other states) that wouldn't help one bit.

"Iâd like to see senators placed back under the control of the state legislatures." Thanks cripplecreek.! I do believe just that alone would go a long way toward fixing "some" of the problems in Washington....
