The process by which a child of citizen parents becomes a citizen of the U.S. is NATURALIZATION.

You are profoundly confused (if not actually disturbed).

Cruz arrived in the world an American because of his mother. Any consular bureaucratic procedure surrounding the event was just to confirm it. It did not make him a citizen. Because he already was, by virtue of his birth.

Naturalization is the process a non-American undergoes in order to become an American. E.g., Arnold Schwarzenegger or Henry Kissinger. Neither man is an American by birth. Being not American at birth, they needed "NATURALIZATION" to become American.

But, unlike Arnold and Henry, Cruz is a natural born citizen and eligible to be President, with no need to be naturalized!

Re: Profoundly confused (if not actually disturbed).

Check out what the Supreme Court has to say:

1. The very first Congress, at its Second Session, proceeded to implement its power, under the Constitution’s Art. I, § 8, cl. 4, to “establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization” by producing the Act of March 26, 1790, 1 Stat. 103. That statute, among other things, stated,

“And the children of citizens of the United States, that may be born beyond sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens: Provided, That the right of citizenship shall not descend to persons whose fathers have never been resident in the United States. . . .”

https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/401/815/case.html

Naturalization defined above by the founders.

Cruz’s mother was in Canada a total of 8 years. His mother and father (formerly a Cuban citizen) both became Canadian citizens. Did she renounce her American citizenship? Does Canada (as many countries do) require someone to renounce?

If so, Cruz was born in Canada to two Canadian parents.

I’m saying that’s a major problem.

Hope that clears up your confusion.

That is a correct statement assuming she is an American citizen. There is no proof of her birth. This is very troublesome. If Cruz can’t prove his mother was a citizen then he is not NBC.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Cruz and I’d like to see him president if Trump fails but we just can’t close our eyes to the fact that his mother may not have been a US citizen. That would be wrong. I value the Constitution above any single individual.
