You bring up an interesting point. This is why his mother’s information is critical. If she renounced her citizenship and pledged allegiance to Canada before he was born - Ted Cruz is not eligible no matter how conservative he is.

If she did not renounce her citizenship but pledged allegiance to Canada as a dual citizen - should he be eligible?

For me - the answer is NO. I wouldn’t want a DEM under those circumstances to be able to run.

I was not even aware of this aspect of it. If true, then he is effectively done.
