Ted Cruz is strongly contesting Donald J. Trump nationally, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll that shows the Texas senator essentially deadlocked with real estate mogul and front-runner in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
According to the survey of registered Republican voters, 28 percent support Mr. Trump, while 24 percent back Mr. Cruz. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.
Trailing Mr. Trump and Mr. Cruz are Senator Marco Rubio and Ben Carson at 12 percent and 10 percent. The rest of the pack is languishing in the single digits.
The findings are a blow to the Trump campaign’s aura of invincibility after months of the billionaire developer’s dominating most national polls. Mr. Cruz has overtaken him in some Iowa polls, and he is starting to catch on nationally. A national Quinnipiac poll from this month showed Mr. Trump beating Mr. Cruz by a margin of 27 percent to 16 percent.

LOL It’s always Quinnipac that gives these polls. Meanwhile, every other national poll has Trump leading either by 15 or 20 points.

I still like Cruz but it’s pretty sleazy for his supporters to intentionally alter the dates of when stories are published.

That holier-than-thou Cruz nonsense is turning me off. Also that photo of him kissing his wife with one eye of the camera was weird. And all of Cruz’s Star Wars geekery is strange.
