American Petroleum Institute president and CEO Jack Gerard said Tuesday that federal government data show the United States will continue to rely on fossil fuels as its main source of energy for decades to come, despite efforts by environmentalists to work toward a goal of banning them.

Don’t worry. The idiot voters in my state approved ballot issues that mandate a significant percentage of power come from those sources in the coming years.
And it will likely come up again in future elections.

The alternate energy industry survives mostly through the support of corrupt and greedy politicians and little else.
Without government subsidies and laws forcing alternate energy on us the industry (such as it is) would collapse overnight.
Alternate energy is just another wealth redistribution scam along the lines of Climate Change and high speed rail (like California’s train to nowhere).
Until and IF there is some sort of major engineering breakthrough the majority of our energy needs will continue to be met by so-called fossil fuels.
Fossil fuels built the modern world and provide the power and products to keep it going.
If politicians, who steal from taxpayers to finance their contributors Unicorn Fart projects, had to live without petroleum derived power and products they would cry Uncle before the day is out.
