Ok, Folks. I'm ready for my Trump "fix" tonight @ Steven's High School.
Stevens High School is the only public high school in Claremont, New Hampshire, United States. It is in the center of the city on the corner of Broad and Summer streets. It was founded in 1868, the result of a $20,000 donation by Paran Stevens to Claremont with the proviso that the city appropriate a like sum. In the early 1990s, the school gained status as the host to one of the earlier Apple Macintosh user groups, primarily attended by high school faculty. Stevens High School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges as well as the State of New Hampshire Department of Education.
Stevens was a Claremont native who was the manager of the Tremont House hotel in Opera House Square, the precursor to the Moody Hotel. He eventually became the most well-known hotelier in America, managing the New England, Revere House, and the Tremont House in Boston, as well as the Fifth Avenue Hotel in New York City, among others. He was the grandfather of British humanitarian Louise Paget.
Stevens High School built its first addition in 1909, due to its increased student body of 156. The front of the building was expanded, adding a laboratory, classroom, a manual training room in the basement, and a headmaster's office. Enrollment quickly grew to 217 by 1914, and the building was expanded again. Enrollment was at 434 in 1929, and a third subsequent expansion added an annex of fifteen classrooms, a gymnasium, and a remodel of the auditorium and older portions of the building.
The building did not need another major renovation until 1962, with the baby boomers entering high school. The student body was nearly 600 at the time, prompting a new cafeteria, improved gymnasium facilities, and twelve new classrooms. The final annex was extended along the back of the building. SHS was an early concert location for the band Aerosmith in 1971.
He may be worth billions, but he is just a very "NORMAL" person. WHO KNEW ? And he is THE best non-pol politician I have EVER seen or read about. He's a natural!
Nobody is perfect; however, he is the ONLY person who can not only beat any Dem he runs against, but also the ONLY one who complains about everything all of us have been complaining about for many long years. And he means it!
Yep. Just heard him make that budget point.
The Pubbies have done NOTHING with the majority we gave them...except give 0 EVERY stinking thing he’s wanted.
Good possibility of flipping blue NY to red. Ha ha ha!
Hannity asked him if he will be able to flip a state such as New York: “I do. I think I’ll do very well in New York.”
The man is just AMAZING !
Next up.....LYIN' Ryan. YUCK !
He WILL take N.Y.; I know who is working for him there and it was begun long ago. Trump has great ground teams in all of the states! He knows what he’s doing !
LOL...how long have I been posting that he SHALL take N.Y. ? :-)
You hit it on target! Everyone is so impressed but more importantly, Trump does speak on behalf of a lot of us! Our elected officials in congress are just weak, even after giving them the majority. I’m ALL For TRUMP!
UGH Ryan on..err! Wimp Time!
Okay, the arrivistes ARE very different; however, Trump isn't one of those !
Just look at FR ! I'm certain that there are posters from all kinds of different backgrounds and positions now. We have different educations, different socio-economic classes, different races and religions, etc. and yet we all, well, okay, most of us all seem to have very similar beliefs re politics, government, and culture/traditions.
Well.....that's how the REAL world is too. :-)
I didn’t just turn off the TV, when Lyin Ryan was about to come on...I FIRST changed the channel, so Fox would know that I said....NO WAY, to Ryan.
Wanna come to a Cruz thread and help me fight the crazies ?
Cruz has just said that TRUMP HAS JUMPED THE SHARK.
OH YIKES !
That sounds awful! Is it something a PAC put out, do you think ?
You are so right. My sister is married to a very wealthy man and yes all walks of life think the same regardless of our income, etc. When we see what the country is going through from failed leaders to spineless elected officials. WE need a DRASTIC Cleansing from this. Trump makes his case by putting America First and The people without pandering or afraid of offending those that actually are hurting this Country and US!
The crazies with "new money" don't count, because many of them were crazy with or without the wealth. There are also poor people who are nuts too and everything in between.
And as I said...nobody really knows WHO or WHAT any of our fellow posters are, with a few exceptions. :-)
The one thing about Trump that we can all be absolutely certain of, is that he doesn't want to be president to make money/make money for his friends. And he owes NOBODY anything at all; except for the American people!
Well said
A lot of those characteristics come from how we were raised — the values our parents instilled in us.
Reading about the Trump family I see many parallels with mine. They are just like so many families but bolder and more successful.
Somehow that success has not “ruined” their foundation.
Wealthy people have great respect for the value of a dollar. They didn't amass that wealth by wasting it at every turn.
I am completely unsurprised by the thread revelation that Trump doesn't like to leave the lights on when no one is in the room. Nor am I surprised that he had his kids work construction jobs or loading dock or whatever it was.
And, for what it's worth, most wealthy people make other people wealthy, and they also provide a lot of jobs.
It seems that Walmart is the current whipping boy of the political left, but how many people does Walmart employ? That family is so rich they could say, "To hell with it," shut down every store they have, and live a lazy lifestyle that normal people can only imagine for 50 generations.
But they don't. They stick around, providing services to communities large and small, contributing to schools and Scouts and other community charities.
I'll be honest. I don't think I'd do it. I'm too much of a hothead. I'd say, "You know, you're right. We're just corporate bloodsuckers practically imprisoning our workers. So, I declare us out of business. If you currently work for us, you don't need to come in. Just start looking for another job. If you have come to depend on us for groceries, well, go somewhere else."
That they DON'T do that speaks volumes.
When I read, tonight, about "TURN OFF THE LIGHT", I damned near wet myself laughing. It's how I was brought up to and I had chores and had to work in the summers too and sometimes for my father's company, growing up.
We raised the progeny the same way.
A LOT of people, especially those about Trump's age, were raised the same way, no matter how much or how little their families were worth. :-)
Me too! This is fun.
When I was around 15, a friend of mine's father built yachts for the uber rich. We went to check up on something for the father and came upon a man in very old clothes in a hot house, and delivered the message and left.
I thought that it was a gardener or some such, but it turned out that he was the V.P. of Standard Oil of N.J. and it was HIS yacht and his massive estate! LOL
