More than half of Donald Trump's supporters say they are strongly committed to voting for him, according to the results of the latest NBC News/SurveyMonkey online tracking poll released Tuesday, the first national poll of 2016.
Overall, the Manhattan mogul commanded the support of 35 percent of the Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters who were surveyed over the past week, while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz came in second place with 18 percent support.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio earned 13 percent, followed by 9 percent for Ben Carson, 6 percent for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, 4 percent for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and 3 percent for Carly Fiorina, according to the full results shared first on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

Good grief, you people, I just reported what anyone following this cycle knows and you call it defeatism? Really, are you afraid of facing reality or what? Just because something is difficult or nearly impossible, doesn’t mean it cannot be done.
If you think your faux Republican whizzbang guy is so great as to garner your votes, why don’t you stop yammering on about it and get out there and stop the Democrats from stealing still another election. Your far too strident comments are not helping convince anyone that you have a point, just the opposite. You sound more like those snowflake students who feel the need to be protected from any speech that is disagreeable to them, which I’m sure you do not intend.
That's low
Thanks for the vote of confidence! /s
And, like the leaders in Congress going to Nixon and informing him that there were the votes for impeachment, the PAC folks will go to Cruz and tell him he can't get elected - and anybody not enamored with Cruz will tell you that's true after viewing his smiling "I'm Ted Cruz and I approve this message."
Remember, the difference between truth and fiction is that fiction has to be believable. I see some mea culpa from Rubio and cover from Cruz. Rubio may even announce he would take Cruz as his VP - which Cruz would laugh off until the convention.
Things are so shaken up today you may see a threesome on stage where Trump accepts Secretary of State, Cruz accepts Attorney General and Rubio promises to adopt Trump's "bring the jobs back while actually building a wall" and promises to be a pure "social conservative" for Cruz.
Rubio is your donor class candidate that might win under some strained circumstances.
