No, it’s not the point at all. The “art of the possible” includes defunding. Power of the purse, remember?
I know folks here have great faith in the congressional power of the purse. my point is that congress does not have the raw political power to over come a presidential veto of a defunding bill and the majority has developed a consensus that since it can’t be won the battle is not worth the cost.
The problem in my mind is the senate leadership that abides by the 60 vote rule by not making the old men stand in the well and filibuster until they tire and die.
I won’t and don’t argue that is correct but it is not up to me.
