Republicans Vow to Undo Obama's Executive Action on Gun Control
Townhall.com ^ | January 4, 2016 | Katie Pavlich

resident Obama will meet with Attorney General Loretta Lynch today to discuss his options surrounding the implementation of new gun control measures through executive action. Because Obama is choosing to go around Congress on the issue, Republicans are vowing to immediately reverse whatever action he takes should they win back the White House in November.

Rubio:

"All these executive orders he's gonna come out with tomorrow that are going to undermine our Second Amendment rights -- on my first day in office, they're gone," Florida Sen. Marco Rubio said at a campaign stop in New Hampshire on Sunday morning.

Christie:

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said on "Fox News Sunday" that Obama "wants to act as if he is a king, as if he is a dictator."

"Fact is, if he wants to make changes to these laws, go to Congress and convince the Congress that they're necessary. But this is going to be another illegal executive action, which I'm sure will be rejected by the courts and when I become President will be stricken from executive action by executive action I'll take."

Trump:

"There's an assault on the Second Amendment. You know Obama's going to do an executive order and really knock the hell out of it," Trump said.

"You know, the system's supposed to be you get the Democrats, you get the Republicans, and you make deals. He can't do that. He can't do that," he said. "So he's going to sign another executive order having to do with the Second Amendment, having to do with guns. I will veto. I will unsign that so fast."

Bush:

"His first impulse always is to take rights away from law-abiding citizens, and it's wrong. And to use executive powers he doesn't have is a pattern that is quite dangerous," Bush said.

Fiorina:

"It is delusional, dangerous, not to mention unconstitutional, for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton to continue talking about climate change and gun control in the wake of a Paris terrorist attack, in the wake of a San Bernardino terrorist attack, instead of how we can defeat ISIS," Fiorina said.

The NRA is also vowing to fight Obama's move.

Keep in mind that is was Democrats, not Republicans, who killed President Obama's gun control measures back in 2013.

Obama will sit down for a town hall style discussion about his gun grab with CNN's Anderson Cooper Thursday from George Mason University.

I place my faith in Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell and Congress to undo this...

Had to stop there. I can't even type that with a straight face. Can't imagine why 0bama even bothered to get another pet given how many lap dogs he has in DC.

Why did you put words in Katie Pavlich's fingers that she never typed. There is no mention of Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell in the article

Shame on you. You didn't even bother to read the article. Admit it!!

They are all just going to let him get away with yet traitorous another abuse of power- and simply ‘undo it’ once they get into power

IF I missed where any of them said they will bring impeachment charges against him- please letme know

How about going to the Supreme Court and ending his rampant use of executive powers to get around the checks and balances set up in the Constitution?

Did you forget how they promised to block Obama if we elected them to congress?????

For the record Cruz and Trump are NOT Establishment Republicans. This does not apply to the Non Establishment Republicans. The few that are left.

I re-read the article ... I still feel the same. Maybe I need to pass it by a super decoder ring?

No you didn’t, because the article didn’t say anything about the House or the Senate.

Did it say anything in the article about impeachment? No it did not. The subject of the article is that arrogant pos occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave’s unlawful executive action against the second Amendment by taking the guns away from Law Abiding citizen.

I don't need to be lectured to read the article, because I didn't comment on the content of the article. I commented about the GOPe's history of breaking their vows and leaving us disappointed and holding the bag. I won't fall for it again.

Show me, don't tell me.

Yes, I read past the headline. Obviously. I pulled a quote from the middle of the article.

And I remain skeptical that anyone will bother undoing anything. There's always another excuse, the one final obstacle that just can't be overcome this year.

Of all the crap in this reporting, this is the crappiest:
President Obama will meet with Attorney General Loretta Lynch today to discuss his options
Like he doesn't already know what he's going to do? Like he hasn't had this in the works for the last 7 years?

Puh-leeeeeeeeez. The media just publishes verbatim the faxes they get from the White House.

I don't think you read *my* comment. Here :
"Pretty much sums up their first and final acts on the matter. A gun grab will spark civil war. And, perhaps that is Obama's ambition. If you aren't already prep'd ... get there now."
I didn't mention the House or Senate ... either.
