Yep...Ol uncle Sugar gotta save us from ourselves.
Interesting factoid I didn't realize till recently. The federal government is the largest holder of opium in the United States....and get this, they house it at Fort Knox.

I worked for 3 weeks as temporary labor in support of a Treasury/GAO audit at the Bullion Depository in 1977. We moved about 47,000 bars out of one vault, down the hall, and into another, counting/assaying it along the way. Twice (two vaults moved/audited).
On the last day, we got a short tour of part of the place. We saw the nice range the Treasury guards had in the basement, as well as the very large room filled with huge bundles of morphine.
If a pill helps someone in their daily life, then wonderful. If someone abuses it, its their own dam fault.
Stop criminalizing people because others don’t know how to be responsible.
When the guvmit started classifying pain meds, they just created millions of criminals.

Yep Ol uncle is the root of the problem. Let’s see, last time we had a huge heroin epidemic was during the Vietnam war. Now the Afghan/Iraq war. Both countries rich in poppys. Sad isn’t it. As one military man said to me “you would be surprised what’s in those body bags”. And now with weed being legal in so many states, the Mexican cartels are switching to more poppy growth.
And so everyone know, heroin use affects us all. It’s easy to say “let them die” but that’s not what happens. Huge uptick in crime, both burglaries and armed robberies. An addict does not care what they must do or who they hurt for that next fix. No drug abuse programs offered in the schools anymore. No money for that. No war on drugs. Our Country is welcoming the “zombie apocalypse” with open arms.
