The Body of Christ should be awakened and energized for the sake of Jesus himself, not for some politician.
Cruz wants Jesus to play second fiddle to his candidacy.
You say this because .....?
...and so begin the vicious attacks. What is the basis for your opinion?
Honey! You are saying this because you prefer Trump, I get it - who has probably never heard the phrase before.
And your presumption in my view is wrong.
>>Cruz wants Jesus to play second fiddle to his candidacy.<<
Ted Cruz’s comment:
“I want to tell everyone to get ready, strap on the full armor of God, get ready for the attacks that are coming,” he warned.
Why would you attempt to twist the meaning of Ted Cruz’s words?
You cannot criticize anything Cruz says or does without being personally attacked and having the worst motives assigned to you. The behavior is anything but Christian.
The body of Christ has the right to vote does it not? Is it wrong to ask that body for its vote?
I don’t like what Cruz said, and I’m a Baptist. But the Body of Christ - the real Christians in America - are NOT even close to being a majority. He’s making this pitch in Iowa, but I’ll bet we won’t hear any such talk in more secular states.
There were more Christians in America in 1980 than in 2016, but Reagan didn’t win because he pushed “the body of Christ” to vote. He won because his policies made more sense and his personality was superior to his Southern Baptist opponent.
Congratulations on missing Cruz’s point, which given your screen name, is a bit of a surprise.
Energizing the Body of Christ will lead to government which honors God. Ted Cruz has never claimed to supercede God in anything.
“Cruz wants Jesus to play second fiddle to his candidacy.”
I feel much the same. I’m uneasy and very uncomfortable with a politician calling on The Body of Christ to mobilize for any cause except the saving of souls and the spreading of the Gospel. I don’t object to anyone proclaiming their faith, just not to procure votes. Fervent prayers for both candidates should be engaged in daily by their supporters and ministers of the faith shouldn’t be shy about supporting their candidates. I fully agree with that. However, Trump is also a believer, although of a different denomination than Cruz. My uneasy feeling is that this tactic just boils down to a “my church is more Christian than yours” type of thing.
Supporting Trump does not make one an agent of the Unbelievers which sounds like what Cruz is trying to suggest.
First fail comment of the year by you
...And a false accusation by you
“The Body of Christ should be awakened and energized for the sake of Jesus himself, not for some politician.”
Agree.
