... NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING WITH THIS CONGRESS!!!...

This would be more widely ignored than prohibition was.
There is a history of ignoring registration laws of this type of firearm in New Jersey and Connecticut. I think in New York too.
Very difficult to enforce with the millions of sport utility rifles already in private ownership.
Let them get. Just let then try.

No they don't. Understand liberalism in the same manner as Islam. It has no time frame.

Setbacks are just those....setbacks.

They will continue the attack regardless of casualties.

Consider: they were willing to sacrifice the House and Senate to get bammycare through. Why? They know once an entitlement is on the books it won't go away.

It’s not an occasion for babbling about one president. Readers here who care will contact their members of Congress and make sure that they have joined at least one state and one national Second Amendment lobby organization. The membership fees are yearly and cheap.

You already know about the NRA and can join it. Here’s a no-compromise organization.

National Association for Gun Rights
https://www.nationalgunrights.org/

Don’t forget to join a state organization (like http://rmgo.org/ for CO) and to vote for pro-Second-Amendment Republicans for members of Congress.

It has nothing to do with executive orders. It’s a bill. Contact your members of Congress with the Bill number, the title, and like a grown-up, ask them concisely and politely to oppose the bill.

Politically speaking it is a good time to make every candidate for federal office state their position on this bill. My guess is that a lot of them won't want to say a thing about it, because they don't want to be defeated in the upcoming election.

Sounds like a great question for Town Halls, press conferences, letters to the editor, candidate events, etc.

You can save your breath on that one when they come knocking. That excuse did not work for the Germans, nor will it work now. As with the Germans, when they leave , they will either have you or the gun[s]. When they get to your door, talking time is over.

With the increasing need for a well armed America, and current public sentiment, let alone that pesky Second Amendment, this Bill is going Nowhere.

Yes, but, unfortunately, if Obama puts out similar executive orders, I don't expect Congress to stop him.

Combined General and Nanny State PING!

Damn good thing all those lesser evils out there got their way and elected liberals to the GOP. I’d hate to think what would happen if Barry got less than 100% support from the so called right wing.

The mind reels!

Here's an example why Trump would be preferable to any of the others, especially the Dems, if Cruz stumbles.

If you ain't smart enough to see/accept it, then you may as well change sides to help accelerate His return as we slosh through ever thicker muck.

I've done my due diligence on Trump and the 2nd Amendment, FRiend.

It boils down to this, and you can look it up. Fundamentally, Trump sees 2nd amendment as being about the right to defend oneself from criminals.

Ted Cruz sees the 2nd amendment as the "ultimate check against government tyranny."

I know who I trust the most on the 2nd Amendment and the Constitution in general. That would be Cruz.

I have no doubt that is the conclusion you came to about Trump. I agree Cruz is stronger on the 2nd Amendment but also believe that Trump will not make it his mission to subvert it.When I broaden it out to the whole picture vs. a couple weak spots, I feel I would be remiss to withhold my vote if Trump is the last man standing.

I guess there are a number who disagree with me on several issues: some Catholics claim Trump ain't evangelical enough for them, but they also wouldn't vote for their Pope or a large number of their church leaders for similar reasons. Other's make abortion their single issue and I believe that someone who is not rabidly pursuing the increase of availability to the baby-murdering factories is far preferable to someone who does (like anyone on the Left).

Many say "zero compromise" but even they must compromise even for a Cruz else we would never have anyone deemed "worthy of their vote".

The world is not Black and White - it is a myriad shades of Gray and if we are to make any progress in it, we need realize that.

Anyway - Happy New Year and Happy FReeping.
