AND, BTW, put something on your homepage in 2016....sheesh!
Both games sucked!
I’m bashful on that count, can you believe it?
Put your bashfulness in some sort of cohesive form that explains a little about yourself, nothing much, but we FReeper guys idolize you FReeperettes.
Pictures are optional but encouraged, LOL.
Hilarious! I love your page. No wonder you like home pages! You’re good at designing one. And, with bells and whistles! It’s intimidating, darn!
Besides, doesn’t this stuff go around the globe? I wasn’t in the ARMY, you know. :) I was into beer, boys and ballet! Not all together, you understand, but you see the enemy would not be very impressed with my version of the 60’s. AT ALL. LOL!
Only three conferences really matter; the AFC, the NFC and the SEC. So far, the SEC is 4 and 1 this post season with more to play.
Did ANY other conference even have five teams in postseason games?
Did ANY other conference have a majority of their teams make the postseason?
Speaking of overrated, it took two overtimes for OU to beat lowly Tennessee, yet they were in the playoff for the title.
The Ohio State and ND suck so bad they had to be paired off together in their own little game so they wouldn’t stink up two events. Heck, OSU had to go SEC to get a coach, and ND is still liable to get beaten by Appalachian State (speaking of toothless southern protestant football powerhouses)!
So next year all the non SEC teams will run up their records playing schedules filled with teams like Toledo and Wake Forest, be promoted like hell on ESPN, and 80% will be beaten by the SEC in the postseason.
ROLL TIDE!! So proud of this team. I’ve heard all week about how intense and focused they were and it showed tonight. Clemson will be a very tough opponent.
SHUT. OUT. 38/0
I had thought that MSU might at least make it interesting. Turned it off and went to bed midway in the 3rd.
That matchup was way wrong.
After Tenn finishes thrashing another Big Ten darling today, I'll check back to see if you want to change that word.
Vols actually competed with Bama.
Your post is the rankings and bowls are bs. Last year sec only played weaker teams in order to win. With ESPN behind expect them to be in a bowl game even they deserve it. Kind of like how no matter what Notre dame will be in a bowl game....even if they only win 4 games all year.
Hey, why stop there. Let's go all out and have a real tournament with 64 teams........
I agree. Yes Alabama would still be there but it does with bs all year in the polls.
I looked it up...same crap this year. SEC has yet to play a team with a higher rank in the bowls. And only played one ranked team! Wow impressive bowl schedule.
Happy New Year.
:)
Hey, I am a Vol fan living in south GA. It was tough to pull for Bama. Rooting for the Gators will be tougher, etc. I was hoping the Sooners would crush Clemson, but did not think a sarc tag was necessary in my post’s context.
Were you in Neyland for the ND game in ‘77/’78? ND went back to South Bend with a 41 to 3 loss. Good Times!
BTW, I REALLY like the new Spurrier free SEC.
I’m sure that if I were an AL fan I’d love it. But the game itself for me was kind of one-sided and boring. AL has one of the nation’s best defenses and once they started moving away from MS, it was all over.
Clemson’s rock ‘n roll offense against the ‘Bama defense should be a fun matchup.
I'd like to see it set up this way:
1. Eliminate all conference championship games--12-game regular season play determines conference champion.
2. Determination of the #1 to #8 teams in the playoff combines a human poll using a 15-person committee (similar to current setup) with 50% of the determination, plus four computer polls, each with 12.5% of ther determination.
3. #1 plays #8, #2 plays #7, #3 plays #6 and #4 plays #5 in the first weekend in December, with the higher seeded team hosting the game at its home stadium.
4. After the game results, re-seed the winners.
5. #1 plays #4 and #2 plays #3 on a January 1 bowl game.
6. Final two teams play January 10 or 11 to determine champion.
That illustrates a problem with the ranking system overrating non SEC teams, not the reverse.
Unranked TN plays #13 Northwestern at noon today....
Face the fact that if your conference lacks two divisions and a playoff game between the division champs, it’s a weak conference.
The OU v Clemson game featured two very good teams! The Bama game was wondwerful to this Tide fan, but the game between Clemson and Bama will be some kind of slugfest. Both teams will seek to dominate on defense. The Clemson secondary is one of the best Jake Coker will have faced all year or all career. I expect the game plan to be different against Clemson, with much more Derrick Henry medicine, starting slow, 2 or 3 yards per carry, but by games end, several +15 yard carries. Will be an interesting matchup with such different styles.
Don't go getting all crazy. 8 teams would be perfect.
