Ted Cruz took a victory lap Thursday following a strong fundraising report, repeatedly telling supporters on a phone call that he expects the race to be over by March, but only after getting through an increasingly nasty run-up to the Iowa caucuses.
The political attacks, he warned, will get "uglier and uglier and uglier."
"Come the month of January," he said, âwe ainât seen nothing yet."
Cruz observed at several points during the call that he expects that the race will finish well before the end of the primary season in June, saying "thereâs a very good possibility that the Republican primary will be decided by the end of March."
The call came one day after the Texas senator's campaign announced he had raised around $20 million in the last three months of the year, an impressive haul that adds to his momentum in Iowa, where he leads in recent polls.
"I want to encourage everyone to get ready, because starting tomorrow morning, we are in a 90-day sprint to win this nomination, and then to turn around and win the general election," he said. "To defeat Hillary Clinton in November of 2016 and to turn this country around."

I can't wait to watch January unfold. Thinking of Cruz, one has to know that he's been planning for this moment for years. He ran simulations in his head over and over, "it's Jan. 1, 2016, primary on Feb 1, 2016, now here's what I do..." Can't imagine that there's anything he hasn't considered and prepared for, 31 days, he has them planned for years,
Either it will either Cruz or Trump.
GO TRUMP!
I believe so as well.
We shall soon see.
lol........ it’s over, Johnny
“there’s a very good possibility that the Republican primary will be decided by the end of March.”

A prognosticator no less...... Who’d a thunk it.
Trump is acting as if the nomination is his and he is now running against Clinton.
Cruz will never make it. He doesn’t have what it takes. Just another lifetime politician with no idea of the real world.
Yup. Cruz or Trump are the only ones with a prayer of getting ACTUAL VOTERS to the polls.
What the GOPe decides to do at the convention is another matter.
.....And the GOPe knoe they are on the outs.
However, it IS possible to get a majority of delegates after March 15th.
I'd like to know what math Ted is using because it doesn't add up.
Trump’s going to win the whole thing by March. Couldn’t be happier. I am sick of hearing about all of them already. Can you believe that we might have to hear from one of them for 10 years total (2 years campaigning and 8 years leading). That is depressing. I wish we had a 3 month primary that started in September the year of the election. All of this is crazy especially the fact that we had 15 candidates and most of them don’t stand a chance. The worst is 3 first term senators running......like we didn’t have enough punishment after 8 years of a first term senator.
I think Cruz will win once it’s him .vs Trump. The only thing that will destroy Cruz’ campaign is if people start equating his face with Kevin from “The Office”
GOPe know.
Cruz is an arrogant one isn’t he? Typical of lifetime politicians who have no real world experience.
if people start equating his face with Kevin from âThe Officeâ
He is rather an an interesting character. The sad thing about Cruz is I am a year older then he is and I look at least 15 years younger then he does. He was not given a fair shake on youthful looks that is for sure. I fear what he will look like after 8 years of presidency. A corpse I suppose. He is a disaster poor guy.
I really despise how the states that have early primary poll dates pretty much determine the nominee. By the time the primaries roll around to the later states, it’s already been determined.
So what. He has already done his job on the other candidates.
I don’t think the Senator is a bad speaker, but then again, I worked for attorneys for 35 years, so I’m used to lawyer speak. I do like that he doesn’t talk down to his audience as a number of snobbish candidates often do. Perhaps we aren’t as well educated as some of these candidates, but we aren’t stupid either.
