Great profile page.
Sky News just reported something from a civil defense official...NO injuries, and the firewworks display WILL go off as planned.
We shall see.
Thank you sir. I have been around the world a few times to say the least.

This is the terrace where the fire started from...this is the culprit...#Dubai @CivilDefenceUAE @DubaiPoliceHQ
Nice!
Sky News: Beginning of fire
The fire looks very hot and spreading. Always thought buildings like this are mostly concrete and steel.
Radical Amish?
The official said the that the hotel as successfully evacuated and there were no injuries. Whether that statement is truthful, I cannot say.
I am wondering what the people running the show are going to do. The countdown clock on the fireworks show page is continuing to run, there are no notices or mention of anything wrong, and the webcast is scheduled to begin in 50 minutes, with the show beginning 30 minutes later.
Yes it is. He certainly gets around.

#Dubai eyewitness reporter on @CNN says there was an explosion before the fire.
I was checking out twitter and people are running in the streets. I would think evacuating the streets would be a priority.
I read on Twitter that the fire is on outside of the building not inside, thank goodness. Paint burning?
To those NOT thinking terrorism...considering it was out on a terrace, perhaps a propane cylinder for a gas fire or grill caught fire and detonated.
(No...they probably we NOT grilling pork, but maybe beef or lamb...)
Just a hypothesis.
Hmmmmmm....
“A lot of Americans like to go there. I donât know why.”
It’s an international business city with lots of nice hotel resorts. Very cosmopolitan. East meets west sorta thing. They have a bunch of business and IT initiatives like low taxes and huge lease-able data centers. I would R&R there from Iraq. The last place I stayed at was on the gulf and had 5 pools, 17 restaurants, 3 fitness centers, shops, craftsmen and ice cold A/C in a luxurious apt / room. All for about $350 a day.
Thank you for your service.
