Better Call Saul can claim a few more honors, is anyone surprised? It’s no doubt the prequel was among the best shows of the year. Critics and publications have been dishing out the awards for quite some time. Here are two more.

Could the overwhelmingly awesome reception of the Breaking Bad spinoff ever have been predicted? The show has racked up Emmy, Golden Globe, and many other nominations. Recognition has been received for the show’s acting, writing, and production.

Forbes has now recognized Better Call Saul as the best show of the year. It beat out tough contenders like Mad Men, The Walking Dead, Narcos, and Fargo. This is what Allen St. John had to say about why it blew the competition out of the water:

I absolutely agree! I can't wait for Season 2 of Better Call Saul to start on Feb. 15. There will be 13 episodes.

I’d give it to Fargo. BCS was good, but not in the same territory as Fargo or The Americans.

You know, I admit I liked "Breaking Bad" and thought Saul's character on there added some needed comedy (and took care of a few plot details/needs).

I started watching BCS and got 3-4 episodes in and just lost interest. Maybe I'll have to watch a couple more and see if it was just me, just a temporary disconnect between my interests and the show. Heck, need something to watch while doing cardio at the gym anyway.

The Americans is a superior show, no doubt.

I love it, but it hardly compares to Breaking Bad or Mad Men.
Excellent television- the likes of which we’ll probably never see again.
(I had such a crush on Don Draper (John Hamm), the bad boy of Mad Men. (sigh)

I loved it too,and was sure that I wouldn’t.

Spinoffs are often a big disappointment.

Homeland S5 was excellent after a disappointing S4.

One of our former interns here in L.A. worked in production for The Americans. He enjoyed it. I found it funny looking back at Freepers reactions that they thought it’s a pro commie show. On the contrary, it’s the reverse.

Get throught the entire 10 episodes, seriously. I thought I was not going to like the show, but they do great character development on Saul and Mike. It gets better and smoother and works.

I’ve never watched the show, but I absolutely love this clip featuring an actress who I regard as one of the hottest ever.

Fargo best by a mile.

I’m hoping BCS will pick up the tempo in 2016.
