In 2008, Trump Dismissed Clinton Sex Scandal as ‘Totally Unimportant’

Considering how tough Donald Trump is talking about Bill Clinton‘s sex scandals now, it might surprise you (or not, because honestly, how many things has he suddenly changed his mind on at this point) to learn that The Donald didn’t always feel this way.

Just to review, in the past week, Trump has tweeted out a lot about the former president, saying that it’s not him that has a “penchant for sexism,” it’s Clinton.

Trump has tweeted about Clinton’s “terrible record of women abuse” and sent a warning-like “BE CAREFUL!” to Hillary Clinton for calling him a sexist.

But CNN tonight ran a clip of an interview Trump did with Wolf Blitzer in 2008, when he talked about both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. And would you like to guess which one he was kinder to?

Trump was correct (I’m a Cruz supporter). The sex scandal is what got in the news, but what mattered as the many real scandals, like the Indonesian “campaign money”, the selling of nuclear secrets to China, etc etc etc. Changing the Oval Office into the Oral Office is nothing by comparison. It is simply what the media allowed to stick.

H1B visas demonstrably increase the wealth of America, produce more jobs, lead to the creation of new businesses.

How was this allegedly "demonstrated" - by that shoddy AEI 'research'? (See http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3271551/posts?page=207#207 and replies.)

I reject your premise,

Fed up with what they have been fed for years, people are waking up to the game, and picking a new team leaders.

They are in fact, rejecting the premise.

In a similar vein, your heretofore postings being taken to heart, your current ones are and will be rejected.

Well, that’s not what he said. Trump was a supporter of the Clintons, a funder with vast amounts of money, and an apologist of the Clintons. He’s changed now. They stand in his way. I get it. But let’s not pretend he was against Bill Clinton for the reasons he now says. Let’s not pretend he opposed Clinton for perjury, obstruction of justice, or because he harassed women. He didn’t then. And now he only does to find away to undermine the wicked Hillary whom he once said would make a fine president.

I can see why it’s so easy for an amoral elitist to change his position when he used to want wealth and now he wants power. Lots of unprincipled opportunist do that.

It was not important to Trump then. But now Clinton accused Trump of being a sexist. So if it is important to Clinton then Trump has to respond and now it is important. Circumstances have changed.

Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if he offered her or Bill a position in his administration. He has no scruples. He’ll say anything for avarice and anything in his will to power. He’s unprincipled. Now, if that’s okay with you, if you’re big on the thrice married, Clinton-funding, wife-shucking Trump, then fine. You’re good with a phony. And when you’ve made a Faustian pact to defeat Hillary you’ll have a former Hillary crony in charge.

I don't really care what Trump said years ago.

I guess learning from history is no longer a conservative thing to do. (Romney supporter, were you?)

I don't understand what they are hoping to accomplish. Do you know?

These threads are like roach traps except they attract Trumpsters.

Going after Clinton over the sex mess only made him a martyr! The left loves him more than ever. It was a giant waste of time with a REPUBLICAN senate who held a mock trial.

So he didn’t mind funding Clintons when they were bashing conservatives; he didn’t mind using crass Left wing lies to bash a Republican president then under malicious attacks by the Left; no, he was pro-Clinton only before the Clinton’s were running a “war on women meme,” you say. Right! And Trump is a poor victim of the Clintons. Trump is cut from the same cloth as Bill Clinton. They’re both amoral political opportunists. If Bill Clinton had a father who could have given him tens of millions of dollars, he’d have been a celebrity real estate developer and goofy undignified reality TV star instead of politician working his way up through a southern state. But Trump waited to finally push back on the Clinton meme of a war on women only when the meme could harm his political ambitions. What a blatant coward and a worm.

Let’s also not forgot Cruz and TPA/TPP.

They have one set of standards for Trump; another set of standards for Cruz. Makes life so much easier for them.
_______________

There’s a fact. I’ll NEVER understand this. ALL these conservatives pushing Cruz.
It’s the most hypocritical thing I’ve ever witnessed.

EIGHT years of all of them pissing and moaning day in and day out about the POSSIBILITY of Obama NOT being born on US Soil, but they have NO problem with Cruz.

If Cruz didn’t preach like a Baptist minister and was a democrat, they would EAT him alive and pitch an absolute fit over the fact this guy was born on CANADIAN soil to a Cuban Father who didn’t bother to denounce his Canadian Citizenship until he ran for president.
Even being a Senator wasn’t enough to make him do it! WHY????

You’re right. From now on perjury and obstruction of justice should be ignored if they strengthen the Democrat Party. Let’s not have the strength and integrity to push back against the Left’s narrative. Let’s celebrate it with a Trump type of opportunism.

” From now on perjury and obstruction of justice should be ignored if they strengthen the Democrat Party.

I didn’t say one word about that and you know it...the question was about Clintons sex escapades. Yes, he should have been removed for perjury and obstruction. Your REPUBLICAN senate refused! Remember? Hell, the democrats have the GOP to take care of them!

In the end it was a backfiring waste of time. If it weren’t Hillary would be GONE!

Five Republicans of fifty-five voted against convicting Clinton. I’d rather lose a righteous fight than be an amoral worm like Trump and the Democrats he’s funded, supported with fawning praise, and only lately discovered were not pro-American. Spin it any way you want. Trump is only about Trump.
