In 2008, Trump Dismissed Clinton Sex Scandal as ‘Totally Unimportant’

Considering how tough Donald Trump is talking about Bill Clinton‘s sex scandals now, it might surprise you (or not, because honestly, how many things has he suddenly changed his mind on at this point) to learn that The Donald didn’t always feel this way.

Just to review, in the past week, Trump has tweeted out a lot about the former president, saying that it’s not him that has a “penchant for sexism,” it’s Clinton.

Trump has tweeted about Clinton’s “terrible record of women abuse” and sent a warning-like “BE CAREFUL!” to Hillary Clinton for calling him a sexist.

But CNN tonight ran a clip of an interview Trump did with Wolf Blitzer in 2008, when he talked about both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. And would you like to guess which one he was kinder to?

“The beauty of Trump is that his dismissal of the Clinton’s sex crimes is entirely irrelevant,”

+++

As I recall, the Republican Congress also deemed the sex scandals to be irrelevant,

That's an irrational reply to a serious query.

OTOH, you've just proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that what I and other Trump supporters have said about you and your ilk is true. Thank you for being so accommodating.

Go upstairs and ask your mom what sarcasm is.

I know what sarcasm is; have probably known far longer than you and have never liked it. I take posts at face value, so if you want others to know that your post is indeed one filled with sarcasm, it is usual, here, to place /s at the end of your reply.

And kid, I'd have to climb a Jacob's Ladder, in order to "go upstairs and ask my mother" about anything, as I don't believe in seances.

Personally I don't care if you like sarcasm or not. I don't put sarcasm tags on my post because it's like explaining the joke. My tagline is as far as it goes. The thing is I'm not always being sarcastic. As far as knowing what sarcasm was far longer than me makes you probably in your 70s and may explain your crankiness.

Trump re-positioned himself from Clintonism to populism to be able to fool conservatives

Trump has ALWAYS been an American patriot, even if Freepers do not like the heresies of his past.

But you’re not able to say that the similarities are not there

You don't understand Putin or the "former" Soviet regime if you're seeing similarities.

Others may sit it out, but informed Americans have a duty to vote; blood was shed for it. I have a duty to use my vote the best way I can.

See my tagline.

I'll vote for what I want to win. I want big government proponents to lose. My tagline is true.

Trump looks a lot like a big government proponent to me. He's also a salesman. With a long left-leaning moderate past. He's off kilter, mercurial. A genuine patriot, but also at heart a genuine showman in his salesmanship.

But look at his past, even his recent past, and it is most emphatically moderate-left.

He's a bad risk to own if it wins.

First off go read his two policy books and recent policy papers before prattling on.

Second, you ignore that I specifically stated if he were the nominee. Primaries are voting for what you want.

And by the way people fought for my right not to vote. Lots of countries have voting, frequently mandatory.

As you can see, fact and truth are irrelevant to the Trump supporters - just look at the responses you are getting. This exactly the kinds of conversations I recall having with Obama supporters in 2008 - no substantative discussion whatsoever “LOL -it’s irrelevant” (not a real response to yet another example of Trump’s obvious ultra liberalism) “LOL - you’re getting desperate”, “is this all you Trump bashers have! LOL!”, etc. Mindless drivel. No amount of facts or truth will sway them. It’s a personality cult. Bashing President Bush as a liar with the bogus liberal talking points and praising Clinton and bashing the impeachment saying he did nothing again with bogus liberal talking points is now wonderful - the impeachment of Clinton was one of the things this forum was huge in helping get pushed through and when it experienced a great deal of growth - it’s how many of us - if not most of us - first found this forum and starting participating - and now, they disagree with it - or it’s “irrelevant.” Why? Because Trump.

No, there is no perfect candidate. However, someone who collectively, across the board, is clearly an ultra-liberal, big government statist is far from just being “not perfect” on a couple of issues. He believes it is governments job “to take care of everyone”, proposes one big government plan after another, and lectures “You conservatives” that we’ll “just have to get used to it.” You say you don’t care what Trump said “years ago” - how about what he’s been saying for many years on end, up to the present day, before and during this campaign, collectively?
