The fed money is candy in trade for sponsoring stupid programs like gay earth week. Since its inception, DEA has had a communist root problem.

If you listen to Rush you know his theory of teacher union dues being a major source of funding to RAT voting campaigns. It is a money laundering scheme to quote Rush. None of these dues that go to political purposes ever goes to a Republican.

EPA is an agency and it is definitely on the list targeted by Cruz. The article I excerpted went into more detail on the agencies and regulations that are in Cruz’s crosshairs.

I assume the individual states will have to make up the loss of funding for their education budgets?

"Education budgets" are nothing legalized extortion rackets, ripping off the taxpayers...everywhere! Most of it goes to fat salaries and benefits for overpaid do-nothing union-thug educRATs.

There are some good teachers, but many are otherwise unemployable political hacks who couldn't teach their way out of a wet paper bag....AND THEY CAN'T BE FIRED!

Ska-REW their "education budgets"!

Cruz said this weeks ago.

Yeah, but Cruz isn't a billionaire celebrity.

He's just a conservative Constitutionalist lawyer. So who cares if he said it weeks ago? Trump's saying it makes it mean something different!

*rolls eyes*

"I may cut Department of Education," Trump said.

You can call that "fearless" if you want, Awgie, but I call it cautious. Even cagey.

Trump has the political depth of a tin pan.

Nov 10th. from National Review: Cruz's plan to cut 5 Agencies ... "First, to begin the process of reducing the scope and cost of government, I have identified the Five for Freedom: During my first year as president, I will fight to abolish the IRS, the Department of Education, the Department of Energy, the Department of Commerce, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. To do that, I will press Congress relentlessly. And I will appoint heads of each of those agencies whose central charge will be to lead the effort to wind them down and determine whether any of their programs need to be preserved elsewhere because they fall within the proper purview of the federal government. I do not anticipate the lists to be long."

Godspeed Ted Cruz.

“As The Daily Caller reporter Blake Neff explained, “While Common Core is promoted indirectly by the Department of Education, it is still adopted individually by state governments, and the federal government does not control it.”

http://www.federalisminaction.com/2013/06/common-cores-uncommon-financial-incentives-and-federalism/#sthash.zO0LDCyl.dpbs

Nonetheless, states rarely turn down the chance to accept “free money” from the federal government. Funding for education is no different. The primary financial incentive for states to accept the CCSS comes from the Race to the Top Fund (RTT). The fund, created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and totaling $4.35 billion, offers competitive grants to all 50 states based on a number of criteria. “Developing and adopting common standards” would give a state 40 of a possible 500 points. As a result, 45 states and the District of Columbia have adopted the CCSS, allowing them to check off one category to make their application more competitive. Although specifically adopting the CCSS was not a requirement, the states that have not done so never even applied for RTT funding.

Funny how Planned Parenthood, National Pubic Radio, here, the Dept. of Education, et cetera all say that federal funding is just a wee, very small, really, really small part of their sustenance.
But bring up the subject of, why not give it back then ...

Also, consider that liberal, two talking morons, all of them, constantly drone on about diversity. If Diversity is our strength, then why not agree that local communities are the best sources of diversity in the US. We don’t need no dept of education. Thanks Roger....liberal moron.

Walter E. Williams said this in 2000...:

"...Nowhere amongst the enumerated powers of congress is there authority
to tax and spend for: Social Security, public education, farm subsidies, bank
bailouts, food stamps and other activities that represent roughly two-thirds
of the federal budget. Neither is there authority for Congress's mandates to
the states and people about how they may use their land, the speed at which
they can drive, whether a library has wheelchair ramps and the gallons of
water used per toilet flush. A list of congressional violations of the letter
and spirit of the Constitution is virtually without end."

Yep. Check this 10 min. video by Bill Whittle: "The Cookie Cutter Curriculum"

Brilliant. And the fact that liberals would regard it as heretical makes the ring of truth to it all the more genuine!
