Chick-fil-A made an exception and opened its doors on Sunday to allow volunteers to work to help victims of the deadly tornadoes in Texas.
Some of the locations in northeast Texas opened in order to help those who were victims of the tornadoes and those who were helping them. The stores were not open to the public.
Founder Truett Cathy opened his first restaurant in 1946. Chick-fil-A is based in Atlanta and has been closed on Sundays since its creation.
The company policy is designed to allow employees to rest and be with family, and attend a house of worship if they desire.
As reported by CNBC, a spokeswoman for the food chain told the media outlet, âThe locations were not open to the public, but team members from various restaurants in the area did volunteer to prepare and distribute free food to responders and others affected by the tornadoes, serving those in need during this tragic event.â

Another reason why it’s the fast food I’m ok with.
God Bless Chick-fil-A.
Evil homophobic bigots that they are.

In a world full of darkness Chick-fil-A is a shining light. And they also have good food. I hope that all here on FR patronize them. They have earned our respect.
Actually helping people devastated by global warming...

Bad wording in the story. They were not “open”, they allowed their facilities to be used in a humanitarian effort to serve those in need. They were being God’s hands.
Chik-Fil-A is awesome.
Chick-fil-a: Home of common sense.
This was a class act by Chick-fil-A and its volunteers who came in to help out the devastated community.
27 Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.
It may be just my local, but the one time I did go there, I found the food to be merely fair. Portions were very small, and way over cooked. Carl’s Jr. and Kentucky has a better chicken sandwich! Staff was friendly and polite, but some of the staff was intrusive and very nosey about my personal business. Better to go through the drive-thru.
I’m personally not into sunday sabbath, and neither are most xians since they tend to desecrate it completely, so I have to give the Chick credit for honoring what they do believe to be sabbath, AND for using it to help those in deep distress. I just wasn’t impressed with the food at our local one as I had high expectations.
I’m sad to report that the nearest Chic-fil-A is 100 miles from my home. I just checked their locations. May God continue to bless their restaurant.
We patronize them as often as we can. I'm still shocked they (finally) opened a store near us here in The People's Republik of Connecticut!
Checked again and one is 60.
Sorry, as much as I admire the corporation, the food is just horrible little salt bombs.
Don’t eat it. Solved.
The chicken sandwiches are great, too.
Wow. That’s the way America used to be.
