The Cleveland police officer who fatally shot 12-year-old Tamir Rice last year will not face state criminal charges, the Cuyahoga County prosecutorâs office announced Monday.
The decision by grand jurors was the end of a lengthy investigation that was criticized by Tamirâs family and by activists, who called the shooting senseless and said the officer should have been charged with murder months ago.

Dang. 3rd place.
I am watching WOIO now. Pretty thorough conference. It seems they are setting up for a possible civil suit?
Since it was a cop, the family was hoping to hit the lottery.
Snow, ice and rain storms heading toward Cleveland. Timing might be right to avoid riots tonight.
Attnys for Rice family, Benjamin Crump and Daryl Parks. This town is goin’ down. (until the settlement is reached.)
Ice storm coming... may deter riots. I’m watching the storm from Michigan and I think you may be correct in your prediction.
Benny crump? Where have we heard that name before?
Pants up! Don’t sh*t!
I would be willing to bet the family would much rather have their Son back... seriously what is wrong with some of you people here?
This isn’t a case where some low life thug was terrorizing or engaging in criminal behavior, this was a boy playing with a toy gun who got killed by police for doing what kids do.
I don’t think the cops committed murder, they unfortunately were not passed on proper information and believed they were responding to someone waving a gun around, not a kid “probably playing with a toy gun”.
If a child playing with a toy gun being killed triggers this kind of cynicism from you, I have to wonder about your upbringing.
Civil charges not ruled out. Conference just ended... No questions from the press accepted. The first speaker indicated there might have been an 911 operator miscommunication.
If riots occur, the cops should wait until the temp is below freezing and unleash the water cannons.
Don`t you mean ‘Pants up, don`t loot!’?
Yes, you are right. This boy was the one exception. He was going to change the world. Now, all is lost.
The driver of the police vehicle placed his partner in the no win situation. By driving up and stopping with a FEW FEET of the suspect, that gave the shooting officer a mere 2-3 seconds to make a decision. The shooting was justified because of the mistake or lack of proper training of the driver. Every officer that I have discussed this case with told me they would have fired the driving officer on the spot.
Unfortunately what you’ve stated is very true.....
I`ve thought about that, can the Capsaicin molecule be artificially synthesized on an industrial scale? If so, then use a super-concentrate as an ingredient in water cannons, soak the a-holes in it. IF you are male, have you ever made the mistake of eating hot peppers or getting salsa onto your hands and not washing your fingers BEFORE you went pee? NOT FUN! Imagine being soaked, head to foot, in a water/Capsaicin concentrate mix? Every inch of your body and clothing drenched in the stuff!
Thank you.
Wow, you know someone should have told you somewhere along the line, when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.
I am curious what “Exception” you are trying to refer to here? Is it your proposition that all inner city black kids and their families must all be, or mostly be nothing more than parasites?
What insane thing happened to you during your life, that you feel an innocent human life being ended pointlessly is okay because “it decreases the surplus population”?
