We Irish do not have to follow the Royalist view of history. As Drogheda’s Tom Reilly has so often recounted, Cromwell in Ireland was the enemy of the Royalists first and foremost. And Cromwell followed the rules of warfare of the time in the same manner of the Irish and better than the Royalists.
