Why do alleged people like this have positions in the media?
More importantly, what can be done about it?

More nonsense. If Trump or Cruz will have trouble picking up more moderate Republicans, Rubio and Christie will have even worse trouble picking up ANY conservative Republicans. That’s a moot point, of course, because neither Rubio nor Christie have any chance of winning the nomination, so they will never have an opportunity to pick up conservative votes once others drop out.
No one knows for certain, but I believe Trump has NOT topped out.
Many, many people are influenced by what is socially acceptable. We are still early enough where many folks have to determine whether they are socially permitted to support Trump.
At some point, supporting Trump will be the cool and fashionable thing to do. Then comes the landslide among all demographics except constipated marxists and Bill Kristol.
