Early on in âThe Hateful Eight,â John Ruth (Kurt Russell) keeps repeating the line âslow like molasses.â Later on, another character informs his gang that their mission is going to take patience.
This describes âThe Hateful Eightâ well, too: It deserves your patience.
âThe Hateful Eight,â the latest film by Quentin Tarantino, shows the very odd path that one of the greatest living filmmakers has decided to take. While many directors start out conventional and then experiment once they have clout, Tarantino has abandoned much of the nonlinear storytelling on which he made his name (with "Reservoir Dogs" and "Pulp Fiction") for something more traditional.

There is ZERO chance I will pay to see a cop-hater’s film.

The last truly good Western was Tombstone.
I’m conflicted about his one.
I love Tarantino’s movies even though he’s an utterly insane, complete lunatic, barking moonbat jackass.
I extremely tempted to never watch this as an objection to his a$$holery regarding police, but it his Kurt Russell in it, and I love Kurt Russell.
I’ll probably see it when it comes to PPV.
I know he’s a leftist, but the man can make some movies. Inglorious Basterds was one of my favorites.
Agree....the Kurt Russell aspect is the only intriguing and redeeming value.
QT’s movies are despicable, gratuitous appeals the increasingly unhinged base, unredeemed human motives. In fact, they exaggerate them.
“It deserves your patience.”
No, it doesn’t. I have no patience or tolerance for American hating bastards.
I’m not a Tarantino fan, but I am a fan of Kurt Russell. I’ve already got it in my Netflix “saved DVD” queue.
Tarantino's been an annoying prick his entire career, but with the exception of the awful "Django Unchained," I've thoroughly enjoyed his films. He is one of the few truly original filmmakers out there who paradoxically steals ideas and references from hundreds of other movies.
when one is told to be patient, the movie builds into something fantastic one knows its a boring stinker.
Slow is smooth
Smooth is fast
Fast is lethal
Yep.
I liked Unforgiven 1992
Let me know when Quentin Tarantino makes a movie about a devout Muslim couple who gun down a dozen or so ordinary people at a staff party in a government office building.
“...one of the greatest living filmmakers...”
Now THAT’S stretching it a bit...
Boycott list
Yep
