ambi means both
and dexterous means right hand + skillful.

so ambidextrous means both right handed :o)

‘Sinistra, sinistrae’ is in fact the noun for ‘left hand’...

sinistra as an adjective for ‘left’ is confined to feminine singular and neuter plural nouns...
