Wow -- I have many retired LEO in my circle of friends, and it's just as you say. Fortunately, the one I'm thinking of who you describe so very well above, is retired and only pulls that crap during arguments with friends who dare to resist his opinion. He becomes EXTREMELY pig-headed, rude, angry, and personally offended over general/standard disagreements. I have often thought to myself as I've observed this habit, "And this guy was a cop? Ughhh."
Bad cops transcend politics. I love my friend and he is a conservative, but if he was still a cop, my eyes would be wide open to the danger he posed to citizens, especially shady but harmless types, who dared to contradict him. Bad cops do bad exponentially, much worse and to a greater degree than non-cop criminals. Bad cops are WORSE than bad criminals.
So now Los Angeles County will pay a lot to the family and the cops will be charged with murder, right?
So the gun went off spontaneously and shot the cop in the gut?
Blame Steve Jobs.
He’s dead so he can’t defend himself, plus he really was the guy who spearheaded the movement to put a video recorder in every cell phone.
Thugs with a Badge?
If they were “friends” of mine I would not admit it, let alone let the World know... unless they were missing while on a Hog Hunting trip with my worst enemy. Everyone would just assume they went feral and that is why this years Hogs look a little weird.
were = went
Yep.
“Luuuucy! Juu got some ‘splaining to do.”
Agreed. Excellent point. But it’s not just cops. My ex-wife was like that, too.
That’s because “bad cops” are criminals operating under to color of law and carrying guns and badges.
So I will say that as bad cops do bad exponentially, good cops do GOOD exponentially. Good cops save futures and even save lives, make crooked paths go straight instead of jail-bound, put the fear of God in kids at the right time, as opposed to contempt for police. Good cops are worth their weight in gold.
Bad cops need to go hunting with TTransplant.
:^)
Totally agree.
I was answering questions about my camper parked on a city street when a deputy took umbrage.
Discretion was the path I took that night with the
two of them
One decided I was being disrespectful.
I apologized to him and stated that I meant no disrespect.
I then left that county as fast as I could
It's so much easier for those bad cops to do that than to actually risk their lives and do real work going after truly dangerous, heinous criminals.
THAT is why bad cops are worse than bad criminals -- they cultivate weeds in their backyard so they can pull them (if they don't shoot or beat them to death first).
GOOD cops understand which folks are truly dangerous and bad, and which (the vast majority) are just law-breaking rebels. A criminal is very different from a rebel. A lot of good cops are rebels themselves. Virtually ALL bad cops are self-absorbed bullies who abuse their power in order to cultivate criminals they can arrest.
Good riddance, Aggie!
Video doesn’t show much. And it sure doesn’t look like a cop planted a gun. He went to steady himself and set his service weapon on the ground then went to wrestle again but grabs the gun again and sticks it in the guys back. The gun in the video looks an awful lot like a glock 19 with a light laser combo. The cops back in Fresno carried those with the light attached at all times. It looks most likely the cop shot his partner, panicked thinking the perp did it, and shop him.
Balistics and autopsy should have revealed a lot.
