If the attack on Pearl Harbor happened today, the government would have a news blackout to prevent tourists from avoiding Hawaii - and the government would also bend over backwards to defend the Japanese.

Las Vegas censors the crime (and suicide) news more heavily than any other city I know - for just that reason.
